Sami Zayn planted seeds of doubt in Paul Heyman
Drew McIntyre & Sheamus def. Hit Row
After Hit Row complained to WWE Official Adam Pearce regarding how they exited the SmackDown Tag Team Title Contenders’ Tournament, Pearce sanctioned a match between Hit Row and Drew McIntyre & Sheamus.
Ashante Adonis jaw-jacked to start but got immediately leveled with the Glasgow Kiss. The beats wouldn’t stop there though, as Sheamus hit more than 20 Beats of the Bodhran on Top Dolla, followed by a White Noise on Adonis.
A Claymore from McIntyre to Top Dolla, plus a Brogue Kick from Sheamus to Adonis, sealed the one sided victory for the Warriors’ two.
Lacey Evans def. Carmen Harress
Lacey Evans made quick work of the Connecticut local, showboating with push ups and handstands on the top rope. Evans finished Carmen Harress off with the Cobra Clutch, viciously holding the maneuver long after the bell had rang.
The Usos def. Braun Strowman & Ricochet to retain the SmackDown Tag Team Championships
Right before the match was about to start, Jey Uso made his way down to the ring to join his brother in their defense of the SmackDown Tag Team Titles against Braun Strowoman and Ricochet.
Strowman and Ricochet utilized their dynamic well, with The Monster of All Monsters chucking Ricochet onto The Usos.
Strowman equipped his strength early in the match but The Usos would bring the giant down with their high-flying offense. Jey Uso had nearly put Strowman away after a top-rope splash but Strowman managed to kick out.
A Running Powerslam from Strowman set up a fantastic Splash from Ricochet, who was perched on top of Strowman’s shoulders. Jey Uso would break up the pinfall on his brother by pulling the referee’s legs.
Strowman would be taken out of the proceedings after he tried mauling through Jey but Jey moved out of the way, sending the monster crashing over the announce table.
Ricochet thought he had The Usos beat with a Shooting Star Press onto Jimmy, but Jimmy was not the legal man. Jey Uso would then fly out of nowhere to hit the Uso Splash onto Ricochet to retain the SmackDown Tag Team Titles.
Ronda Rousey returned to beat down Shotzi and Natalya with help from Shayna Baszler
Liv Morgan & Raquel Rodriguez def. Sonya Deville & Chelsea Green
Chelsea Green and Sonya Deville became a makeshift tag team after trying to earn special favors from WWE Official Adam Pearce. Their opponents in Liv Morgan and Raquel Rodriguez were looking to gain momentum heading into their Elimination Chamber Match.
Green and Deville were teaming well, keeping Morgan away from her partner, until Morgan ducked a Deville strike that ended up hitting Green instead.
The miscommunications between Green and Deville would continue with Green hitting Deville accidentally as well. A Tejana Bomb, Oblivion, plus a tandem splash from Rodriguez and Morgan on Green sealed the victory for the two.
Madcap Moss def. Rey Mysterio, Karrion Kross & Santos Escobar in a Fatal 4-Way Match to become No. 1 Contender for the Intercontinental Championship
Rey Mysterio, Madcap Moss, Karrion Kross and Santos Escobar collided in the ring for a marvelous Fatal 4-Way Match for a chance at Gunther’s Intercontinental Title.
Each performer brought his own style and flair to the match as Gunther looked on from the skybox. Kross and Mysterio clashed again, renewing their recent rivalry.
Mysterio and Escobar also went head-to-head for the first time in a WWE ring, wowing the WWE Universe in Connecticut with their lucha-libre style.
Each competitor had plenty of chances to come out the victor, with Escobar hitting a beautiful Hurricanrana from the top-rope.
After Mysterio hit a 619 on Kross, it looked like The Master of the 619 would wrap up the victory. Scarlett, however, had other plans as she stopped Mysterio from performing the West Coast Pop. This angered Escobar, who collided with Kross to send him outside the ring. The commotion allowed Moss to hit a gigantic elbow drop off the top-rope to lock up the victory.
