Golden State Warriors celebrate 2015 NBA Championship with WWE World Heavyweight Title

The last time the Golden State Warriors won the NBA Championship, Bruno Sammartino was into his second WWE World Heavyweight Championship reign. Forty years and 115 WWE Champions later, the Warriors are back atop the basketball world thanks to the “Splash Brothers,” Steph Curry and Klay Thompson, powering a six-game defeat of LeBron James and the Cleveland Cavaliers.

To help the Warriors celebrate in style, WWE sent them a custom WWE World Heavyweight Championship, which forward Draymond Green proudly showed off on Twitter days after clinching the NBA crown.

The Warriors not only got an extra boost in the series from Finals MVP Andre Iguodala, but also from Seth Rollins. During their morning film session before Game 6, the Warriors watched Rollins’ rant from Raw on Cleveland’s Game 6 chances, Sports Illustrated reported. “Take a good look, Cleveland, because this is what a World Championship looks like,” Rollins yelled to a chorus of boos. “LeBron James ain’t bringing a title back to Cleveland.”

Unfortunately for the city of Cleveland, which hasn’t seen a pro sports championship in 51 years, Rollins’ prediction came true.
