2K announced on Monday that Brock Lesnar will be the cover Superstar for WWE 2K17. The selection places Paul Heyman’s prized client at the forefront of 2K’s push to make WWE 2K17 the most authentic and action-packed WWE video game to date.
The choice came as no surprise to the intimidating competitor known to the WWE Universe as The Beast Incarnate, who shared this sentiment on Twitter.
“@WWEgames finally wised up and put The Beast on the cover of #WWE2K17,” Lesnar said.
As the new face of WWE 2K17, Lesnar joins an impressive list of Superstars who previously graced the cover of 2K’s WWE video game series, which includes the likes of The Rock, John Cena and “Stone Cold” Steve Austin. The selection also marks the first time that Lesnar will be the sole Superstar appearing on a WWE video game cover.
The announcement also confirms that Lesnar will be the newest Superstar to join the WWE 2K17 player roster. He joins the three playable characters that were unveiled by artist Rob Schamberger at E3 2016: John Cena, Sasha Banks and WWE Hall of Famer Ultimate Warrior.
Furthermore, WWE gamers who pre-order WWE 2K17 now can start conjuring up a dream rematch between Lesnar and his WrestleMania XX opponent, Goldberg. The two-time World Champion and WCW legend will be available as a pre-order bonus character in 2K’s latest addition to its venerated WWE video game series.
WWE 2K17 is not yet rated by the ESRB, and is currently scheduled for an October 2016 worldwide release on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, as well as PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360.
