After reporting to the WWE Performance Center in Orlando, Fla., last January, the WWE recruit known as Boa has worked and trained nonstop to fulfil his dream of becoming a Superstar in WWE. This past weekend, he took one step closer to turning his dream into a reality – in addition to making his NXT debut in Largo-based Minnreg Hall on Saturday, Boa picked up his first win while teaming alongside No Way Jose.
Boa, one of seven recruits from China that WWE signed to developmental contracts last fall, was ecstatic about not only his big moment, but that No Way Jose would also be in his corner both in the literal and figurative sense. The fun-loving Superstar helped Boa get ready for his match beforehand, and in return the 6’4” rookie taught Jose how to say “dance” in Chinese. After getting his hands taped up by fellow NXT Superstar Roderick Strong, Boa made his way out to the ring before a capacity crowd inside Minnreg Hall, where he and Jose teamed up for a hard-fought victory and a well-deserved celebratory post-match dance.
Following the bout, Boa conveyed a special thanks to No Way Jose and the WWE Universe in his native tongue before doing so once more in English. Watch the highlights from Boa’s debut and post-match celebration above.
