Tim White: Bio
Officiating is a tough job. No one knew the demands of the job more than Tim White, who refereed many incredible matchups including the epic Hell in a Cell Match between The Undertaker and Mankind.
White started his career as WWE Hall of Famer Andre the Giant’s handler before becoming a part-time WWE referee in 1985. Following Andre’s passing, White transitioned to officiating full-time.
White had the honor of presiding over a plethora of matches during WWE’s Golden, New Generation, Attitude and Ruthless Aggression eras. In that time, his greatest match saw The Phenom and Mankind battle it out inside, and on top of, the career-altering Cell structure. It was another Hell in a Cell Match between Triple H and Chris Jericho, however, where White suffered a shoulder injury that would force him into an early retirement.
On June 19, 2022, White sadly passed away at the age of 68. But on the night before WrestleMania 39, White’s legacy would be immortalized forever when he posthumously received the Warrior Award alongside the WWE Hall of Fame Class of 2023.
