Most Extreme Player for 1/4/08
January 6, 2008
With all due respect to the greatest professional wrestler of all time, Ric Flair, my pick for 2008's first MEP is Mr. Kennedy.
Perhaps I was not surprised by the 16-time World Champion's showing against Triple H because I wholeheartedly believe that even at this stage in his career, Nature Boy can beat any WWE Superstar on any given night. In fact, I believe that Ric will be a 17-time World Champion before he ends his legendary career. My only regret is that I will not be calling that match unless by some slim chance that historic contest is the sole preliminary ECW match on a WWE pay-per-view.
Mr. Kennedy, on the other hand, scored the greatest victory of his young career by pinning future Hall of Famer, Shawn Michaels in the middle of the ring on global television. Since his WWE debut, I have said that it is only a matter of time before the world hears the ring announcement, "Your winner and new WWE Champion... Mr. Kennedy... KENNEDY!"
