The Usos def. WWE Tag Team Champions The Miz & Damien Mizdow by disqualification
CLEVELAND — The Miz & Damien Mizdow retained the WWE Tag Team Championships by disqualification at WWE TLC, when Miz hit one of the challengers with his stunt double’s Slammy Award.
Days after the WWE Universe named Jimmy & Jey Uso the Tag Team of the Year at the 2014 Slammy Awards, they hoped to reinforce their placement at the top of by reclaiming the WWE Tag Team Championship. But Miz and his stunt double Mizdow used distractions, mind games and an award to escape Cleveland with the gold still in their grasps.
Miz and Jey kicked off the title showdown inside Quicken Loans Arena by trading and reversing roll-up pinfall attempts — while Mizdow reenacted on the ring apron. When Jimmy entered the bout, though, the time for laughter was over. Steaming over Miz’s suspicious attempts to put his wife Naomi in touch with his Hollywood agent, Jimmy set out to beat a lesson into the self-proclaimed “A-lister”. After a spear and a series of hard shots. Jimmy and his twin brother followed with up a delayed double-team vertical suplex, holding Miz upside down in the air for more than a minute, which Mizdow comically tried to replicate in the corner rather than helping Miz.

Former WWE Champion Miz used his wits to get momentum back on his team’s side, though, recovering from The Usos’ dives and athleticism with devastating kicks to the face and a sudden DDT on Jey. With The Usos reeling, the WWE Universe in Cleveland, the hometown Miz renounced earlier this year, chanted “We want Mizdow!” The distraction allowed Jey to recover and tag his brother Jimmy back into the match.
Jimmy flipped the momentum with a Samoan drop, and after he locked Miz in a submission hold of his own after powering out of the Figure-Four. It seemed The Usos would recapture the gold at WWE TLC.
When Jimmy climbed the top rope to punctuate the victory with a big splash, though, Miz crawled out of the ring and he and Mizdow headed for the exit. The Usos dove on Mizdow in an attempt to keep the champions from fleeing, but Miz smacked one of the twins with a Slammy Award, warranting a disqualification loss and ensuring he and his stunt double would leave Cleveland as champions by a technicality.
