Solo Sikoa def. Roderick Strong
Solo Sikoa punched his ticket to NXT Stand & Deliver following a hard-hitting brawl with Roderick Strong to open NXT 2.0.
“The Street Champion of the Island” traded powerful strikes with Strong, who stunned Sikoa with a backbreaker and high-angle slam. As the heated back-and-forth found its way to the top rope, Sikoa sent Strong flying with a stiff right hand before flattening him with a splash for the pinfall.
Tony D’Angelo def. Dexter Lumis
In his first singles match in over two months, Dexter Lumis squared off with “The Made Man of NXT” Tony D’Angelo, picking him apart in the early going with a multitude of slams and a leg drop until D'Angelo dropped Lumis face-first onto the steel steps.
Looking to put an end to the match, D'Angelo crawled to the corner to retrieve his trusty crowbar, but Indi Hartwell foiled his plan by grabbing the weapon before he could reach it. As Hartwell, Persia Pirotta and D’Angelo engaged in a tug of war for control of the crowbar, Pirotta let go of it, resulting in D’Angelo accidentally knocking out Lumis as the referee avoided the collateral damage. D’Angelo capitalized on the fortuitous circumstances with a swinging slam to cover Lumis for the 1-2-3.
After having his hand raised, D’Angelo grabbed a microphone to proclaim he would finish Tommaso Ciampa and become the new Don of NXT at Stand & Deliver. D’Angelo readied himself for a fight when Ciampa’s music played, but The Blackheart slipped into the ring and surprised his Stand & Deliver opponent from behind with a Fairytale Ending.
Elektra Lopez def. Fallon Henley
Elektra Lopez made Fallon Henley pay for her interference last week, decimating the relatively new Superstar and stopping Henley in her tracks with a huge facebuster.
Outside the ring, Josh Briggs & Brooks Jensen continued their dispute with Legado del Fantasma, resulting in an all-out brawl and both tag teams being ejected. The scuffle fired up Henley for a quick flurry of offense, but La Madrina squashed the rally with a sit-down slam and covered Henley for the victory.
Bron Breakker def. Robert Roode
With NXT Champion Dolph Ziggler watching from ringside, Bron Breakker sent a powerful message to the champion ahead of their showdown at NXT Stand & Deliver by defeating his Dirty Dawgs tag team partner, Robert Roode.
As Breakker charged Roode, Ziggler stepped in to save his partner, pulling him out of the way and sending Breakker flying into the ring post before the referee sent The Showoff packing.
The two traded stunning near-falls that included Roode kicking out of an earth-shattering spear and Breakker kicking out of a Glorious DDT to the chants of "this is awesome!" Unsure how to keep Breakker down, Roode once again climbed to the top rope, but he was caught in midair and powerslammed by Breakker for the pin.
But Ziggler got the last laugh, catching Breakker by surprise with a superkick as he made his way up the entrance ramp.
Grayson Waller def. A-Kid
“The Spanish Sensation” A-Kid fell victim to the Grayson Waller effect as “The Arrogant Aussie” earned one of the last two spots in the North American Title Ladder Match at Stand & Deliver.
The inaugural NXT UK Heritage Cup Champion thrilled with his unique acrobatic offense, stunning Waller with a multitude of dropkicks and even catching Waller in the middle of his rolling stunner for a submission. Waller slipped out of the submission and countered with a modified Russian Leg Sweep off the ropes to stun A-Kid and open the door for Waller to hit his rolling stunner for the victory.
Afterward, NXT North American Champion Carmelo Hayes and Trick Williams entered the ring to sarcastically console A-Kid on his loss and offer him one more chance at qualifying for the Ladder Match with a Last Chance Triple Threat Match next week.
The Creed Brothers def. GYV
Although they continued to deny their involvement, GYV suffered the consequences of the irate Creed Brothers, who took out their frustrations on the former NXT UK Tag Team Champions.
Zack Gibson & James Drake attempted to use the same underhanded tactics that nearly earned them a spot in the Dusty Rhodes Classic Finals for a third straight year, but the Creeds were having none of it, bulldozing through the duo and tossing them around the ring.
After dropping Drake with a huge chop block, slam and clothesline in quick succession to score the pinfall, The Creed Brothers had their celebration cut short when video footage of a vandalized Diamond Mine Dojo appeared on the TitanTron with two mysterious hooded figures walking away from the wreckage.
Gunther def. Duke Hudson
Duke Hudson's attempt to prove he can beat anyone in the NXT 2.0 locker room failed when he ran into the clubbing hands of Gunther. The Ring General pummeled Hudson with multiple thunderous chops that left his chest bright red. Hudson fought through the pain to stun Gunther with a big boot, but The Ring General answered with another chop to knock the wind out of Hudson before driving him through the mat with a devastating powerbomb to earn the victory.
After the match, Gunther stated that he was tired of being overlooked while others talked their way into championship matches, drawing the ire of LA Knight, who laid down a challenge to The Ring General for Stand & Deliver. Taking Gunther’s advice and deciding to speak with his fist, Knight delivered a right hand to Gunther. Fabian Aichner & Marcel Barthel jumped Knight, and the three men pummeled Knight until MSK stormed the ring to even the odds.
Io Shirai & Kay Lee Ray def. Dakota Kai & Wendy Choo in the Women’s Dusty Classic Finals
The powerhouse pair of Io Shirai & Kay Lee Ray overcame the upset-minded duo of Wendy Choo & Dakota Kai to etch their name on the Women's Dusty Cup.
Despite only partnering for two matches, Choo & Kai worked efficiently and effectively against the former singles champions, but their opponents flattened the odd couple with a pair of dives through the ropes.
Choo & Kai continued to take it to the high-flying pair in a fast-paced main event, setting up Ray for a double stomp and splash off the tope rope in quick succession for an incredible near-fall broken up by Shirai. After The Genius of the Sky dispatched Kai, Ray rallied to plant Choo with a KLR Bomb before Shirai finished the job with a moonsault for the win.
As the two celebrated, Toxic Attraction made their way to the ring from the "Toxic Lounge" to congratulate Shirai & Ray, but they were met with a surprise when the Dusty Cup winners stated they were forfeiting their NXT Women's Tag Team Title opportunity for a chance at the NXT Women's Championship.
Stunned by the revelation, Gigi Dolin threw her drink in the duo's faces as Jacy Jayne and Many Rose attacked the Shirai & Ray until Cora Jade stormed the ring to send Toxic Attraction tumbling to the arena floor.
