As TakeOver: Rival went off the air on WWE Network, WWE medical staff was seen tending to the fallen Zayn after the referee stopped the bout and awarded the NXT Championship to Owens. The evaluation continued backstage, as WWE COO Triple H and NXT General Manager William Regal kept a close eye on the proceedings.
Zayn, who is scheduled to travel to Abu Dhabi to join the main roster on WWE’s tour of the United Arab Emirates, tweeted an update this morning.
