Dolph Ziggler confronted NXT Champion Bron Breakker
Fresh off his first NXT Title defense at Vengeance Day, Bron Breakker vowed to do everything in his power to walk into NXT Stand & Deliver as champion, until Dolph Ziggler came out to remind Breakker that April 2 is a long way away.
Grayson Waller def. LA Knight
LA Knight was ecstatic to finally get his hands on Grayson Waller, but "The Arrogant Aussie" had an ace up his sleeve as his personal bodyguard Sanga stepped in to allow Waller to roll up Knight and score the victory.
Knight chased a retreating Waller around the ring, pummeling his longtime tormenter with some massive clotheslines and a knee to the face until Waller tossed Knight into the steel steps. After surviving an onslaught from Waller that included an elbow off the ropes and a sit-down powerbomb for a pair of near-falls, Knight caught "The Arrogant Aussie" mid-stunner for an Angle slam.
With Knight rolling, he went for his modified facebuster, but unbeknownst to the referee, Sanga held on to Waller, opening the door for a surprise rollup to give Waller the victory. Afterward, an irate Knight dropped Waller and Sanga with a pair of facebusters to stand tall as he headed back up the entrance ramp.
Io Shirai & Kay Lee Ray def. Amari Miller & Lash Legend in Women’s Dusty Cup Match
The powerhouse duo of Io Shirai & Kay Lee Ray proved they were a force to be reckoned with, using their combined strength to put down Lash Legend & Amari Miller and advance to the semifinals of the 2022 Dusty Classic.
After a powerful showing from Legend knocked the wind out of Shirai & Ray, the duo kept Legend down with a pair of moonsaults following a KLR Bomb to the young Superstar for the pinfall.
Duke Hudson def. Dante Chen
Dante Chen wasted little time getting payback on Duke Hudson, attacking the premier poker player as he made his way to the ring and pummeling Hudson's legs in retribution for his cheap shot weeks ago.
Chen applied pressure in a fast and furious bout, but Hudson turned the tide when he caught Chen with a big boot before delivering a Razor's Edge for a decisive victory.
Pete Dunne challenged Carmelo Hayes
Carmelo Hayes hit the ring to once again proclaim he is the "A-Champion" of NXT and its biggest star after his title defense at Vengeance Day, provoking an appearance by Pete Dunne. Dunne disputed Hayes' claims, stating that he can't be NXT's biggest star without facing "The Baddest Man in NXT."
Cameron Grimes def. Trick Williams
Still heated after losing the North American Championship Match at NXT Vengeance Day, Cameron Grimes jumped an unaware Carmelo Hayes and Trick Williams to set up the showdown.
Grimes took out his frustrations on Hayes' partner in crime. Once he got his feet underneath him, Williams battled back to drop Grimes with a flying clothesline and a powerbomb before blasting him with a spinning kick.
After trading blows with Williams in the center of the ring, Grimes turned the tide with a side slam and a superkick outside the ring before flattening Williams with a splash and a Cave In to score the pinfall.
Nikkita Lyons def. Kayla Inlay
Nikkita Lyons roared in her NXT 2.0 debut match, decimating Kayla Inlay with an array of devastating strikes. Determined to spoil her debut, Inlay did not make it easy for Lyons, but her offense had little effect, as one swift punch dropped Inlay before Lyons planted her with a suplex and followed it up with a kick to the head for the victory.
Solo Sikoa evened the odds in The Creed Brothers’ brawl with Imperium
The Creed Brothers reveled in their Dusty Cup victory, which got them one step closer to the NXT Tag Team Titles, and claimed they will outwork Imperium. The comments drew the wrath of Marcel Barthel, Fabian Aichner & Gunther, who, after a heated back-and-forth, stormed the ring for an all-out melee. As Gunther went to strike Malcolm Bivens, Solo Sikoa appeared out of nowhere to drop The Ring General with a superkick.
Kacy Catanzaro & Kayden Carter def. Ivy Nile & Tatum Paxley in a Women’s Dusty Cup Match
The veteran experience of Kacy Catanzaro & Kayden Carter proved to be too much for the newly formed duo of Ivy Nile & Tatum Paxley in the opening round of the 2022 Women's Dusty Classic.
The high-flying pair withstood the sheer power of the Diamond Mine duo despite vicious strikes from Nile. After a unique somersault from Paxley for a near-fall, Catanzaro & Carter tossed Nile out of the ring before landing a picture perfect 450 Splash and neckbreaker combo for the 1-2-3.
After the match, a frustrated Nile locked Paxley in her modified dragon sleeper, knocking out the rookie as she and Roderick Strong left the arena.
Dolph Ziggler def. Tommaso Ciampa
"Big Bob" helped deliver a big win to tag team partner Dolph Ziggler in a heated main event showdown against Tommaso Ciampa.
Fighting for his "home," The Blackheart grappled with the former World Heavyweight Champion, as Ziggler focused his attack on the previously injured neck of Ciampa. After an exchange of blows, the two-time NXT Champion stunned Ziggler with an exposed running knee and leveled him with a clothesline for a near-fall.
The two Superstars continued to brutalize one another with in a blockbuster showdown that had the NXT Universe in attendance hoping they would fight forever. With both men exhausted after a ferocious battle, Ciampa rolled Ziggler back into the ring looking to finish the job when a ringside camera man smashed a camera across his back. Ziggler capitalized on a dazed Ciampa to hit a devastating superkick and pick up the win.
As Ziggler celebrated, the cameraman removed his mask to reveal himself as Robert Roode. The two then proceeded to beat down Ciampa after the bell until NXT Champion Bron Breakker charged the ring to save The Blackheart and issue a tag team challenge before the four Superstars brawled as the show went off the air.
