NXT North American Champion Leon Ruff & Damian Priest def. NXT Cruiserweight Champion Santos Escobar & Raul Mendoza
Damian Priest enjoyed a dominant run early in the bout until an individual appeared in the crowd wearing the same mask as the person who helped Johnny Gargano defeat him for the NXT North American Title, affecting the focus of The Archer of Infamy. Legado del Fantasma took control until Priest rallied, and much to his chagrin, Priest received a blind tag from Leon Ruff as he was poised to hit Raul Mendoza with the Reckoning. Not only did Priest deliver his signature attack, but Ruff added a soaring frog splash to ensure victory before his massive title defense this Sunday.
Cameron Grimes def. August Grey
Cameron Grimes came poised to deliver a message to Dexter Lumis ahead of their TakeOver clash, arriving with a strap in hand, and he picked up a swift victory over August Grey thanks to the Cave-In. He hit another afterward and proceeded to dole out punishment with the strap until Lumis emerged from seemingly out of nowhere, beating Grimes with the strap before he could flee.
Jake Atlas def. Tony Nese
Dedicating the match to the late Pat Patterson, Jake Atlas turned in a performance that likely would have made the WWE Hall of Famer proud. Atlas picked up a pivotal Cruiserweight division victory, putting former champion Tony Nese away with the Cartwheel DDT.
Imperium vs. The Grizzled Young Veterans ended in a no-contest
The Grizzled Young Veterans were scheduled to take on Ever-Rise until Imperium stormed the scene, dismantling Ever-Rise in brutal fashion and leading to a match between themselves and Zack Gibson & James Drake. The two teams fought an evenly matched battle in a bout that was too close to call until Ever-Rise reemerged to attack both teams, then decided on a speedy exit after clearly drawing the ire of their new adversaries.
Shotzi Blackheart def. Raquel González in a WarGames Advantage Ladder Match
Shotzi Blackheart emerged not only with the advantage for Sunday's highly anticipated WarGames Match with Team Candice, but also the answer as to who is the fourth and final member of her team: Io Shirai.
The match eventually devolved into all-out chaos, as all seven women involved in Sunday's match got involved until the numbers advantage neutralized Blackheart. That was until The Genius of The Sky hit the ring to even the odds and take out the field with a spectacular moonsault to the outside.
Freeing Blackheart to scale the ladder and claim the briefcase, Shirai paid instant dividends as the final addition to Team Shotzi, setting the stage for what is sure to be an unforgettable showdown.
