WWE Women's Tag Team Champions Nia Jax & Shayna Baszler def. SmackDown Women's Champion Sasha Banks & Bianca Belair
Sasha Banks and Bianca Belair won’t be taking the WWE Women’s Tag Team Titles on their way to WrestleMania. Instead, their collision course is fully in effect after their union imploded in a loss to Nia Jax & Shayna Baszler.
Despite being set to battle for Banks’ SmackDown Women’s Title in only three weeks, Banks and Belair surprisingly functioned as the more cohesive unit early with frequent tags, dominating much of the action.
But The Queen of Spades and The Irresistible Force began to enforce their will against Belair until The EST was eventually able to make a tag to Banks, who lit up both Jax & Baszler, setting Belair to come back in and hit a spectacular 450 splash. Reginald, who accompanied Jax & Baszler at ringside, distracted from the ensuing pin attempt, however.
Banks locked Baszler in the Bank Statement, and while Belair tried to block Jax from breaking it up, The EST was shoved back on top of Banks, breaking the hold.
That was all it took to set off Banks and Belair, and Baszler took advantage with a roll-up on Banks for the win.
The tension between Banks and Belair only escalated from there. The Boss landed the first blow prior to next month’s showdown, blasting Belair with a brutal slap across the face.
