Xavier Woods crowned King of the Ring after defeating Finn Bálor
The childhood dream has come true for Xavier Woods as he overcame Finn Bálor to become the new King of the Ring.
Neither Superstar appeared to gain the edge in an evenly fought match that saw counter after counter. Woods nearly earned the victory after stopping Bálor dead in his tracks with a superkick square to the jaw.
After a ring-shaking superplex gave Woods another near-fall, The Prince rallied by catching Woods in the ribs off a flying elbow attempt.
As Bálor set up for the Coup de Grace, Woods rolled out of harm’s way to hit an enzuigiri and a modified gut-buster. Woods then climbed the ropes for another flying elbow that sealed the win. After the bell, an emotional Woods took his place atop the throne.
