WWE.com Editors’ Predictions: Who will win at WrestleMania?

The Showcase of the Immortals. The Show of Shows. The Grandest Stage of Them All. By any name, WrestleMania is, simply put, WWE’s biggest event of the year. This year’s edition will be no exception, featuring, for the first time ever in a WrestleMania main event, Ronda Rousey, Charlotte Flair and Becky Lynch competing for the Raw and SmackDown Women's Championships in a Winner Take All Match, WWE Champion "The New" Daniel Bryan against Kofi Kingston, Triple H against Batista, Universal Champion Brock Lesnar against Seth Rollins and so much more. With such a monumental card, it’s time to ask the most important question: Who’s going to win?

To answer this, legendary wrestling journalist Bill Apter (author of "Is Wrestling Fixed? I Didn’t Know It Was Broken") joins the WWE.com editors in giving their picks for who they think will walk out of the WrestleMania will their hand held high, presented by Snickers.

WWE.com Editors’ Predictions: Who will win at WrestleMania?

Raw Women’s Champion Ronda Rousey vs. Becky Lynch vs. SmackDown Women’s Champion Charlotte Flair (Triple Threat Match)  (PREVIEW)

APTER: Becky is the choice of the WWE Universe. She has an amazing fan base motivating her. Charlotte is getting a bum deal feeling like the unwanted third party even though she's now the SmackDown Women's Champion. Ronda is ... Ronda ... enough said ... that's why she will emerge victorious and retain her moniker of The Baddest Woman on the Planet.
WINNER: RONDA ROUSEY

BURDICK: I realize the tremendous ability of Ronda Rousey and the natural talent of The Queen. But, in a Triple Threat Winner Take All Match, it's going to be a total free-for-all, one where the champions don’t even need to get pinned to lose their title. All the planning and skill in the world will get swept up in firestorm and ultimately, the winner will be the one who knows how to play outside the norm. Translation, when the dust finally clears, The Man will be left standing.
WINNER: BECKY LYNCH

BENIGNO: Can’t spell WrestleMania without “Man.” Becky completes the climb and fulfills her destiny.
WINNER: BECKY LYNCH

PAPPOLLA: Marshall Mathers was quoted describing Ronda Rousey as “Slaughterhouse in a blouse” on his 2014 “Shady XV” album. I can now be quoted in the 2019 WrestleMania predictions column as telling you that “Slaughterhouse in a blouse” Ronda Rousey will win the first-ever women’s main event in WrestleMania history because that’s just the type of thing that the GREATEST WOMEN’S ATHLETE WHO HAS EVER LIVED DOES!
WINNER: RONDA ROUSEY

BRISTOUT: Ronda Rousey will go full Super Saiyan. Charlotte Flair will remind the WWE Universe why she is in fact “Ms. WrestleMania.” But neither the Raw nor SmackDown Women’s Champion will stop The Man with the plan. Mark my words: The Becky Era will be crystalized at MetLife Stadium.
WINNER: BECKY LYNCH

WWE.com Editors’ Predictions: Who will win at WrestleMania?

WWE Champion “The New” Daniel Bryan vs. Kofi Kingston (PREVIEW)

APTER: Mr. McMahon is going to find several ways to screw Kofi and all his amazing momentum out of the title. However the wiley young veteran will find a way to thwart the Chairman, the bully Rowan and the champion to become the new WWE Champion and it will be a joyus "New Day" for his millions of fans.
WINNER: KOFI KINGSTON

BURDICK: After eleven years, Kofi had passed all the tests, jumped through every hoop and endured every hardship to get his opportunity. Now, he's finally in line to claim his destiny and nothing, but nothing, is going to stop him now. He will capture the WWE Championship on The Grandest Stage of Them All, and that's all there is to it.
WINNER: KOFI KINGSTON

BENIGNO: Daniel Bryan should know better than anyone: When you get your shot, you don’t miss. Kofi does his Bryan-at-WrestleMania XXX thing and takes it home.
WINNER: KOFI KINGSTON

PAPPOLLA: Dear, Kofi. The concrete jungle is where dreams are made of – there’s nothing you can’t do. Go get yours, my man.
WINNER: KOFI KINGSTON

RALPH BRISTOUT: Kofi Kingston’s Road to WrestleMania has been quite the emotional roller coaster. Ironically enough, however, his journey totally underscored a certain someone’s famous adage: “Fight for your dreams, and your dreams will fight for you.” With a lion’s heart and relentless spirit, Kofi went against all odds throughout this long road and saw his personal “I” become an entire WWE Universe’s “We.” Magic is real, and Kofi will prove that threefold when he turns his dream into reality at WrestleMania 35.
WINNER: KOFI KINGSTON

WWE.com Editors’ Predictions: Who will win at WrestleMania?

Universal Champion Brock Lesnar vs. Seth Rollins (PREVIEW)

APTER: Don't think for a moment Lesnar and his advocate Paul Heyman doesn't have Seth Rollins totally figured out by now. Brock has been out of action for a long period of time however, like a caged animal when the door is unlocked and that fury is finally unleashed it's unstoppable. Brock remains champion in what will be one of his toughest battles to date.
WINNER: BURRRRRAKKKKKKKK LESNAR!

BURDICK: Seth Rollins' mindset is exactly where it needs to be to slay The Beast. And, at The Showcase of the Immortals, his unrelenting, unbridled commitment to WWE, week in and week out, will prove to be the difference.
WINNER: SETH ROLLINS

BENIGNO: Beating Brock Lesnar? Certainly possible. But this humble prognosticator learned the hard way not to bet against The Beast. I won’t be burned again.
WINNER: BROCK LESNAR

PAPPOLLA: In any other era, Seth Rollins leaves MetLife Stadium as the new Universal Champion. But this era is Brock Lesnar’s until he decides it’s not. That silence you hear means we’re still living in the Age of The Beast.
WINNER: BROCK LESNAR

BRISTOUT: How does one slay The Beast? Well, the answer is simple: Burn the ground he walks on. Going up against a champion whose destructive reputation on The Grandest Stage of Them All is much like Godzilla’s rep in Japan, Rollins undeniably has the odds stacked against him. However, since winning the Men’s Royal Rumble Match, The Kingslayer has proven week after week that no fire burns brighter than that one that comes from within. With that same burning will, he took six F-5s in the middle in the ring and responded with: “Is that all you got?!” So, as the saying goes, “Play with fire and get…” – you know the rest.
WINNER: SETH ROLLINS

WWE.com Editors’ Predictions: Who will win at WrestleMania?

Triple H vs. Batista (No Holds Barred Match)  (PREVIEW)

APTER: Triple H's career is on the line. Batista is an unknown commodity at this time.  We know all about his attitude but can he be as effective in the ring after so many years away from active competition? I don't think so. Triple H and the WWE Universe will send him back to his own "Galaxy!"
WINNER: TRIPLE H

BURDICK: Triple H is not just called The Game. At this point, he is The Game, and this showdown will ultimately be played by his rules. It will not be pretty, but look for The Cerebral Assassin to reign supreme in the end.
WINNER: TRIPLE H

BENIGNO: Batista rules, but that aside, Triple H is coming off a big injury and The Animal just seems hungrier than usual. Big Dave wears an iconic suit to the stadium and banishes H to a cozy corner office.
WINNER: BATISTA

PAPPOLLA: Batista got what he wanted, all the way up to Triple H’s in-ring career now being on the line. But the only end Game we’ll see in April drops in theaters on the 26th.
WINNER: TRIPLE H

BRISTOUT: Triple H plays chess, not checkers. He gave Batista what he (really, really) wants, but under no circumstances will that decision come back and haunt him. The Game, set, match.
WINNER: TRIPLE H

WWE.com Editors’ Predictions: Who will win at WrestleMania?

Shane McMahon vs. The Miz (Falls Count Anywhere Match) (PREVIEW)

APTER: Shane McMahon has already won the psychological battle in this "Falls Count Anywhere" match.  He's pushed every wrong button of Miz infuriating him to the peak of madness. This could make Miz become careless in this war. If he can maintain a cool head and break down Shane's punk attitude with brute force he'll most certainly win -- and extract sweet revenge for himself and his father.
WINNER: THE MIZ

BURDICK: Yep, I get it. Shane attacked Miz from behind on WWE Fastlane. He put his hands of The A-Lister’s dad. But, this is a Falls Count Anywhere Match at WrestleMania, basically Shane-On-Mac's backyard. And "anywhere" is the place where Shane-O-Mac shines the brightest.
WINNER: SHANE MCMAHON

BENIGNO: Miz on the side of the angels and fueled by great vengeance and furious anger? Count me IN. Buuut, add Falls Count Anywhere and factor in Shane McMahon’s Shane-like propensity to jump off things and McMahon-like propensity to rewrite the rules on the fly, and things get complicated. Miz dons the white hat well, but The Prodigal Son rope-a-dopes his way to an ill-gotten win.
WINNER: SHANE MCMAHON

PAPPOLLA: Shane McMahon stated that he would go as far to jump off the top of MetLife Stadium to defeat The Miz at WrestleMania … and I have to wonder out loud if that level of insanity eventually becomes more hindrance than help.
WINNER: THE MIZ

BRISTOUT: You absolutely can’t put your hands on another man’s father and get away with it. That’s an unwritten rule that we’ll see get enforced threefold the moment The Miz meets Shane in the squared circle (or at the ‘Mania stage).
WINNER: THE MIZ

WWE.com Editors’ Predictions: Who will win at WrestleMania?

WWE Women’s Tag Team Champions Bayley & Sasha Banks vs. Beth Phoenix & Natalya vs. The IIconics vs. Nia Jax & Tamina (Fatal 4-Way Match) (PREVIEW)

APTER: Had Beth Phoenix and Natalya not been in this match I would have picked the champions to retain.  It's going to be a tough loss for Bayley and Banks but they will be unable to keep the new team of Phoenix and Natalya from taking the titles.
WINNER: BETH PHOENIX & NATALYA

BURDICK: When you think about it, the combination of Peyton Royce and Billie Kay is very underrated. No one will see them coming. The outspoken tandem knows each other better than sisters, and they possess the ability and the unparalleled desire to win at any cost. WrestleMania will be simply ... IIconic!
WINNER: THE IICONICS

BENIGNO: It’s anybody’s game, really. And tempted as I am to prognosticate a feel-good win for Beth Phoenix, smart money lies with the only team of this field to actually have beaten the champs...
WINNER: THE IICONICS

PAPPOLLA: It can be argued that Sasha Banks & Bayley have literally waited and worked their entire lives for this exact moment. I ain’t in the business of picking against such notions.
WINNERS: SASHA BANKS & BAYLEY

BRISTOUT: The IIconics are lowkey expert strategists when it comes to teamwork in the ring. Before you dismiss that claim, re-watch Billie Kay & Peyton Royce’s stunning victory over the reigning Women’s Tag Team Champions on the March 19 edition of SmackDown LIVE. Good strategy wins championships. With a winning formula of their own, Kay & Royce’s wonder powers should carry them over to a major milestone at WrestleMania.
WINNER: THE IICONICS

WWE.com Editors’ Predictions: Who will win at WrestleMania?

AJ Styles vs. Randy Orton (PREVIEW)

APTER: This is a tough one to pick. It can go either way but I have to pick a winner and I'll go with AJ Styles. Recently I have noticed Orton is too focused on getting the RKO at just the right time to finish an opponent and make a devastating statement.  AJ won't let him get there.
WINNER: AJ STYLES

BURDICK: This one will not be contained. It’s a highly personal conflict with WAY too much resentment driving it. It might result in a double count-out or perhaps a double disqualification. But, the fact is that these two intense Superstars aren’t out to win a match. They're out to take each other out. And that's exactly what will happen.
WINNER: NO WINNER

BENIGNO: The immensely entertaining war of words has been a dead heat, but Orton may have given the game away when he countered the Phenomenal Forearm into the RKO on Tuesday. Some minor adjustments, and bragging rights go to Styles.
WINNER: AJ Styles

PAPPOLLA: Who built the house that is SmackDown LIVE? Debatable. Will this one tear the house down? Likely. Give me AJ though.
WINNER: AJ STYLES

BRISTOUT: The WWE Universe will be in for quite the rumble when two of the most dynamic Superstars of the 21st century square up under the bright lights of The Show of Shows. So many things can happen here. Just imagine the many opportunities for Orton to pull off a ridiculous RKO? Or the many Phenomenal tricks that Styles has up his sleeves? But, in a fight to determine who has the right to claim Head of Household for the Blue Brand, I expect Showstopper Styles to had Orton an eviction notice. Keep an eye on this one to steal the show.
WINNER: AJ STYLES

WWE.com Editors’ Predictions: Who will win at WrestleMania?

United States Champion Samoa Joe vs. Rey Mysterio  (PREVIEW)

APTER: Rey has to come up fast and flying. Samoa Joe is a brutal fighter and if he gets the upper hand and grounds the veteran luchador it will be a disappointing quick night for the challenger. Joe has the edge in power and brutality. He retains.
WINNER: SAMOA JOE

BURDICK: Sorry,Dominic, Samoa Joe is not interested in making things nice for families during pay-per-view showdowns. Just ask AJ Styles. Bottom line, sitting at ringside, you will get a great view of one absolutely destructive Superstar defeating your dad on The Grandest Stage of Them All.
WINNER: SAMOA JOE

BENIGNO: This was looking like Samoa Joe’s to lose before Rey Mysterio got hurt. Now with The Ultimate Underdog hobbled, it’s looking like a mortal lock. Rey’s too brave to not at least try, but try is all he’ll be able to do.
WINNER: SAMOA JOE

PAPPOLLA: Samoa Joe has waited his entire career for his WrestleMania moment. And I’ve waited my entire career to pick him on The Grandest Stage of Them All.
WINNER: SAMOA JOE

BRISTOUT: Go against the king, and you best not miss. Under no circumstances will The Notorious J.O.E.’s reign get cut short.
WINNER: SAMOA JOE

WWE.com Editors’ Predictions: Who will win at WrestleMania?

Kurt Angle vs. Baron Corbin (Kurt Angle’s Farewell Match) (PREVIEW)

APTER: The WWE Universe has given a huge thumbs down to this match. They have voiced their opinion that Kurt's final opponent should be almost anyone but the very annoying and conniving Corbin.  Unfortunately he was hand picked by the former Olympic hero who will destroy Corbin and teach him a wrestling lesson he'll never forget.
WINNER: KURT ANGLE

BURDICK: We are talking about months of built-up resentment toward an adversary who has made life a living hell for a highly-decorated Superstar who won an Olympic Gold Medal with a broken freakin’ neck. We’re talking about his farewell match. We are talking about Kurt Angle, and this one's a lock.
WINNER: KURT ANGLE

BENIGNO: Unpopular opinion, Baron Corbin Edition: the man can go in the ring. And for all the poetic justice Angle’s looking for on the way out, his eyes are bigger than his stomach. Corbin wins and brags about it forever and ever.
WINNER: BARON CORBIN

PAPPOLLA: There’s now actually four Is: Intensity, integrity, intelligence and I will never pick against my Olympic Hero in his final match ever!!!!
WINNER: KURT ANGLE

BRISTOUT: Random thought: I see this playing out like the final fight scene in “Rocky V.” I expect Corbin to put Angle through a beating, but, in the end, The Olympic Hero will outclass his arch-nemesis with a hard lesson in respect. The tear-jerking finale that should come after the three-count will likely to be a moment to behold.
WINNER: KURT ANGLE

WWE.com Editors’ Predictions: Who will win at WrestleMania?

Roman Reigns vs. Drew McIntyre (PREVIEW)

APTER: Two competitors with so much to prove. Roman is back and has to show the WWE Universe that the time he was out has not taken a toll on him. McIntyre is perhaps the toughest test Reigns can have at this point in his career. McIntyre knows he must beat Reigns and make the statement that it's his "yard" now. They are equally matched and this should be a brawl neither of them will ever forget. It can go either way, but here's my pick ...
WINNER: ROMAN REIGNS

BURDICK: McIntyre is a down-right mean opportunist, one who will stop at nothing to prove that the squared-circle belongs to him. Unfortunately, he is out of his depth against Reigns, who will repel the threat in no uncertain terms, not only because it’s WrestleMania, but because it’s his first solo pay-per-view since return from his battle against leukemia. Without a doubt, this Big Dog is ready to hunt.
WINNER: ROMAN REIGNS

BENIGNO: Any other year, and it’d be a sure bet the winds of destiny would carry Reigns to an improbable win here. But the winds have changed, and Drew McIntyre has a prophecy to fulfill. Can’t fight fate forever.
WINNER: DREW MCINTYRE

PAPPOLLA: In many ways, Roman Reigns just competing on this show is a victory in-and-of-itself. But The Big Dog ain’t coming at Drew McIntyre for moral victories, he’s looking for the genuine article.
WINNER: ROMAN REIGNS

BRISTOUT: Roman Reigns is no stranger to big victories at WrestleMania, so I expect to see experience triumph over malice. Where Drew McIntyre is out to collect names, The Big Dog is ready to square up. For the last couple of weeks, McIntyre made his intentions for ‘Mania loud and clear, beating down on Reigns’ Shield comrades and bragging about it afterwards. Expect The Big Dog to let his action do the talking at The Show of Shows. As for McIntyre, well, we all know what they say about the loudest one in the room.
WINNER: ROMAN REIGNS

WWE.com Editors’ Predictions: Who will win at WrestleMania?

Intercontinental Champion Bobby Lashley vs. "The Demon" Finn Bálor (PREVIEW)

APTER: Unless "Lil'" Leo Rush has some tricks up his sleeve at ringside to thwart the momentum of Balor, "David" will beat "Goliath" and regain the gold. A devestaing "Coup de Grace" will spell a huge loss to the bigger man in this one.
WINNER: FINN BÁLOR

BURDICK: Finn Bálor has managed to triumph against the odds in Handicap Matches in order to get to the dance. There is no reason to think he won't continue to be successful when it's one-on-one. And now that The Demon is in the equation, we will definitely have a new Intercontinental Champion.
WINNER: FINN BÁLOR

BENIGNO: Please. It’s The Demon. Thank you, next.
WINNER: FINN BÁLOR

RYAN PAPPOLLA: So, it just really feels like Lio Rush is bound to screw something up for The All Mighty. #AndNew for Finn Bálor on The Show of Shows.
WINNER: FINN BÁLOR

BRISTOUT: Lio Rush’s meddling put an end to Finn Bálor’s Intercontinental Title reign, so expect the former champion to get his comeuppance.
WINNER: FINN BÁLOR

WWE.com Editors’ Predictions: Who will win at WrestleMania?

SmackDown Tag Team Champions The Usos vs. The Bar vs. Shinsuke Nakamura & Rusev vs. Ricochet & Aleister Black (PREVIEW)

APTER: Renewed focus and vigor are the two elements that will blend making The Usos undeniably undefendable!
WINNER: THE USOS

BURDICK: They are The Bar. And at WrestleMania, they will once again rise above to become the SmackDown Tag Team Champions.
WINNER: SHEAMUS & CESARO

BENIGNO: It’s tough to bet against old war horses like The Usos, but consider that Aleister Black & Ricochet have been the most consistent tag team across all three brands for the last two months. (Really.) The Revival may have outsmarted them on Raw, but they’ll thrive in the chaos here and close the book on NXT in the most epic fashion possible.
WINNER: ALEISTER BLACK & RICOCHET

RYAN PAPPOLLA: Shinsuke Nakamura & Rusev both individually fell just short of picture-perfect WrestleMania moments last year. So, it feels only fitting that together as a unit they’ll each get theirs this year, while simultaneously ripping moments away from half-a-dozen others in the process.
WINNERS: SHINSUKE NAKAMURA & RUSEV

BRISTOUT: As much as I want to go with my favorite NXT standouts, I’d be remiss to acknowledge the road paved by the SmackDown Tag Team Champions The Usos. They’ve battled the best and emerged victorious in enough pressure-cooker matchups (Hell in a Cell against The New Day, 2-out-of-3 Falls against Luke Harper & Erick Rowan) to make this upcoming Fatal 4-Way Match a cake walk.  To the three rival teams: “Welcome to The Usos Penitentiary!”
WINNER: THE USOS

WWE.com Editors’ Predictions: Who will win at WrestleMania?

Andre the Giant Memorial Battle Royal (PREVIEW)

APTER: He is an underdog who has shown amaZing potential. This  match is the next chapter in Ali's claim to WWE fame.
WINNER:  ALI

BURDICK: The Winner of The Greatest Royal Rumble. The Guy who flips trucks and destroys cars. Yep, I an going with The Monster Among Men.
WINNER: BRAUN STROWMAN

BENIGNO: Colin who? Michael huh? Never heard of  'em. "Weekend Update"? What’s that, a push notification? Ha ha ha. What’s that? No, Braun Strowman isn’t hovering over me while I type this. Why do you ask?
WINNER: BRAUN STROWMAN

PAPPOLLA: Here’s how I see this going: Braun Strowman annihilates Colin Jost, but somehow that leads to Braun’s elimination … which somehow leads to Michael Che improbably winning the Andre the Giant Memorial Battle Royal … which, with Jost now out for a time period close to eternity, Norm MacDonald comes out of SNL retirement to replace Colin at the Weekend Update desk!
WINNER: MICHAEL CHE

BRISTOUT: The year of Tranquilo will be stamped, and the rest of the locker room will be put on notice after Big Match Andrade snags the W.
WINNER: ANDRADE

WWE.com Editors’ Predictions: Who will win at WrestleMania?

WrestleMania Women’s Battle Royal (PREVIEW)

APTER: She is still reeling from her title loss to Charlotte Flair. There is little doubt in my mind that the fighting machine named Asuka will be amped up and ready to get back into title contention with a spectacular battle royal victory.
WINNER: ASUKA

BURDICK:  Look for Naomi to make history yet again when she picks up the victory against the odds and remains undefeated in WrestleMania Women Battle Royals!
WINNER: NAOMI

BENIGNO: For every heartbreaker Asuka has suffered this past year, she’s found a way back. The awakening was rude a few weeks ago. The response will be ruder.
WINNER: ASUKA

PAPPOLLA: Another pay-per-view predictions article, another opportunity to remind you that Carmella is better than all other humans, and thus, the favorite to win any match she is placed in. Put on your dancing shoes and uncork some Capo Cagna — Mella will be Money at Mania.
WINNER: CARMELLA

BRISTOUT: As if this gif doesn’t say it enough, the answer is simple: No one is ready for Asuka!
WINNER: ASUKA

WWE.com Editors’ Predictions: Who will win at WrestleMania?

WWE Cruiserweight Champion Buddy Murphy vs. Tony Nese (Kickoff Match) (PREVIEW)

APTER: Murphy has been champion since October 2018.  Tony Nese is an excellent wrestler and has all the skills to provide Murphy with an incredible battle.  Buddy has that unknown something that makes a champion stay a champion and that will be the case once again in this match.
WINNER: BUDDY MURPHY

BURDICK: Nese has been training with Buddy Murphy and knows him better than most. He has proved himself determined in the WWE Cruiserweight Championship Tournament against the best that WWE 205 Live has to offer. Look for Nese to emerge from The Showcase of the Immortals with the title, possibly utilizing surprising nefarious means in the process.
WINNER: TONY NESE

BENIGNO: What’s this, you say? Buddy Murphy has low-key become the most consistent big-match champion in the company? Show me the lie, and I’ll give Tony Nese’s remarkable Cinderella run the benefit of the doubt. As it stands, Big Tone will have to take solace in the fact he’s become championship material, and accept that the title itself will have to come later.
WINNER: BUDDY MURPHY

PAPPOLLA: What has eight abs, a sweet ring jacket and a promising future as Cruiserweight Champion, you ask?
WINNER: TONY NESE

BRISTOUT: This is another potential show-stealer. After the three-count, expect to hear the following: “And your NEW Cruiserweight Champion…”
WINNER: TONY NESE
