World Heavyweight Championship Match
Goldberg def. Triple H to retain
In the weeks leading up to this match, Triple H had focused on Goldberg's ankle. In fact, on the RAW before the event, Triple H interfered during the Goldberg vs. Batista match and attempted to shatter his enemy's ankle. Goldberg luckily escaped, but damage had already been done.
Despite his weakened state, Goldberg jumped out to an early advantage. But with Ric Flair acting as a distraction, Triple H didn't waste much time in attacking Goldberg's injured body part. No matter what The Game tried, though, he could not get Goldberg to give up. Growing frustrated with not putting him away, Triple H took some brass knucks from Flair and knocked out Goldberg. Somehow, Goldberg was still able to kick out. With the ref knocked out, Triple H then went to his sledgehammer, but Goldberg avoided the blow. Evolution stormed the ring, but Goldberg picked up the sledge and cleaned house. Triple H went for the Pedigree, but Goldberg countered. Instead of finishing off The Game with the sledgehammer, Goldberg played by the rules and hit him with the spear and Jackhammer for the win to retain the World Heavyweight Championship.
