Bobby Lashley and Mustafa Ali called their shots on Seth “Freakin” Rollins
Bobby Lashley def. Mustafa Ali
After Bobby Lashley and Mustafa Ali both called their shots on United States Champion Seth “Freakin” Rollins, the two would engage in a scuffle that could only lead to one thing: a match inside the squared circle.
Ali took it to Lashley early but The All Mighty was in no mood and dispatched the young upstart with multiple Spinebusters, followed by a gargantuan Spear and a Hurt Lock to force the referee to call the match.
Mia Yim def. Tamina
Mia Yim’s first match back was a tough one as she faced off with Tamina. Tamina was no joke but Yim captured her first victory since coming back with the Eat Defeat.
Chad Gable def. Matt Riddle
Matt Riddle got the news of a lifetime when last week on Raw Talk Elias stated he wanted to be in a band with Riddle. Unfortunately this week Elias was not around meaning Riddle would have to face Chad Gable alone.
Gable schooled Riddle with amateur wrestling maneuvers until The Original Bro utilized his strength to his advantage.
At one point the two enigmatic Superstars engaged in Bro/Shoosh off, much to the delight of the Louisville crowd.
As in previous matches, Otis got involved frequently, assisting his mentor in the win when he held down Gable’s shoes to the ropes as Gable was pinning Riddle.
Johnny Gargano set the stakes for The Miz vs. Dexter Lumis
Dominik Mysterio def. Shelton Benjamin
After Dominik Mysterio mocked Shelton Benjamin the two went at it in the ring.
Benjamin brought his experience, slowing down Mysterio to take control of the match.
Mysterio would bring his “Lationo Heat” however and hit Benjamin with a Frog Splash to seal the win.
IYO SKY def. Dana Brooke; Mia Yim joins Bianca Belair’s War Games team
Brooke, upset at her 24/7 title being thrown in the trash last week, took on Damage CTRL’s IYO SKY. Brooke was valiant but could not overcome SKY, who took to the sky to deliver an Over the Moonsault to gain the victory.
Dolph Ziggler def. Austin Theory by disqualification
Arguably at rock bottom, Austin Theory came out to face Dolph Ziggler without his signature phone, signaling there would be no selfies.
Theory came hot out of the gates but Ziggler held his own. Theory nearly had the victory with a vicious rack bomb but Ziggler kicked out.
An A-Town Down attempt was beautifully countered into a Sleeper Hold from The Show-Off but the former Mr. Money in the Bank powered out.
The match went back-and-forth, Theory kicking out of a Fameasser and a Zig Zag,
In the end Theory would clobber Ziggler leading to two A-Town Downs. Theory could have had the match won but rage consumed the young Superstar, as he brutalized Ziggler to the point that the referee had to disqualify him.
Baron Corbin def. Akira Tozawa
Before this match began, Tozawa played Texas hold’em with Corbin and JBL backstage, even winning a majority of the hands, even though it was his first time playing. This enraged Corbin and JBL thus leading to this impromptu match.
Tozawa had a great showing but was eventually stopped after Corbin caught him in mid air and hit him with the End of Days.
Seth “Freakin” Rollins def. Finn Bálor to retain the United States Championship
In a grudge match stemming all the way from 2016, Seth “Freakin” Rollins battled Finn Bálor for the United States Title. Bálor took advantage early, sending The Visionary into the corner of the announce table, then proceeded to target that area to great effect.
In shades of 2016, Bálor hit Rollins with the move that put The Prince on the shelf those many years ago. This turned up the gear for both competitors, setting off a back-and-forth that ended with an awesome sit-out powerbomb from Rollins.
An attempted Falcon Arrow was countered into a nasty looking 1916 that nearly gave Bálor the U.S. Title. As the match wore on, Rollins hit a Falcon Arrow that sent the rest of The Judgment Day down to help out their leader. They were soon met with The O.C. and Mia Yim who brawled them out of the arena.
All the commotion allowed Rollins to execute The Stomp, giving Rollins the hard-fought win.
After the match, Austin Theory continued his vicious descent, destroying Rollins at ringside.
