CM Punk interrupts Paul Heyman's resignation: photos
"Tonight is the last time you're ever going to see Paul Heyman," he says to the WWE Universe, kicking off Raw in Nashville, Tenn.
"The sins of the mentor will befall upon his protege and I can't let that happen," Heyman says of CM Punk. "That's why tonight, I'm tendering my resignation."
"CM Punk needs to focus on becoming the reigning, defending WWE Champion and I refuse to stand in his way," he says.
The former WWE Champion comes to the ring to stop his mentor and manager.
"I'm not going to let you do this," Punk says. "You're way too important to me. You're way too important to this company as a whole."
Punk assures Heyman he will beat The Rock Sunday at Elimination Chamber.
"You are right. You are 100 percent right. And beat The Rock you shall. And I will be there Sunday!" Heyman says before embracing Punk.
