NXT Level Up results: Aug. 25, 2023

Hank Walker & Tank Ledger def. Tyriek Igwe & Tyson Dupont

Having defeated Bronco Nima and Lucien Price as well as Ikemen Jiro and Quincy Elliott in their last two traditional tag team matches, Hank Walker and Tank Ledger were hungry for their third straight win against rookies Tyriek Igwe and Tyson Dupont.

Igwe and Dupont, who came up just short against Edris Enofé and Malik Blade in their debut match earlier this month, wowed the NXT Arena by showcasing raw strength and keeping Walker isolated from his partner for a long time.

Once Walker made the tag, however, Ledger hit the ring like a ball of fire, hitting a double crossbody and pummeling both of his foes. Walker soon tagged back in and teamed up with his partner to level Igwe with a double powerslam for the three-count.

Kiana James def. Kiyah Saint

Looking down her nose at the debuting Kiyah Saint from the moment she stepped through the curtain, Kiana James soon found out that it wouldn’t be a good idea to take her rookie opponent lightly.

James’ wakeup call came in the form of Saint’s picture-perfect jumping knee strike, which sent the former NXT Women’s Tag Team Champion flying across the ring.

A Clemson graduate with an incredible track and field background, Saint nearly got the win with a fisherman’s suplex, but James grabbed the top rope to break free of James’ clutches and sent her face-first into the mat with the 401K and a knee to the face.

SCRYPTS def. Dante Chen

Battling the diabolical SCRYPTS is a tall order, but trying to take down the enigmatic Superstar while he’s backed by the hulking duo of Bronco Nima and Lucien Price borders on the impossible.

Despite the enormous challenge and receiving a pie-face from SCRYPTS in the early goings, Dante Chen nevertheless unleashed his arsenal, landing several menacing strikes and sending his opponent plummeting to ringside by clotheslining him over the top rope.

With the NXT Arena chanting “Dante,” Chen almost earned the win by overwhelming SCRYPTS with a wicked pump kick, but Nima distracted the official while Price grabbed Chen’s boot to give SCYRPTS the opening to land an acrobatic cutter for the 1-2-3.
