Superstars react to historic Mae Young Classic announcement
It didn’t take long for today’s historic Mae Young Classic announcement to ripple throughout the WWE Universe.
The 32-woman tournament, coming this summer exclusively to WWE Network, was first announced during WrestleMania Week. WWE Executive Vice President, Talent, Live Events and Creative Paul “Triple H” Levesque revealed the event’s official title and ticket on-sale date this afternoon on Twitter.
Within minutes, Superstars from Raw, SmackDown LIVE and NXT took to Twitter to share their excitement over the big event, as well as praise its name, which pays tribute to inimitable WWE Hall of Famer Mae Young, who passed away in January 2014.
Check out some of the reactions below, and stay tuned for future updates regarding this summer’s international competition. Tickets for the Mae Young Classic, to be held July 13-14 at Full Sail Live in Orlando, Fla., will be available starting this Friday at NXTtickets.com.
