As the two Superstars engaged in a cutthroat battle for supremacy, Christian blasted The Celtic Warrior with a hard-hitting spear outside the ring, followed by another brutal spear in the ring. But after missing a third spear – and crashing hard into the steel ring post – Christian was left vulnerable. Sensing blood in the water, The Great White struck quickly with the Brogue Kick.
Before the match began, fired WWE Superstars The Miz and R-Truth were spotted at ringside, flashing tickets to WWE Hell in a Cell. But, WWE EVP was having none of it. With WWE security personnel in tow, Laurinaitis came to ringside to have the two escorted from their seats.
