Punk refuses to retreat
CM Punk will not back down. After a brutal Fatal Four Way Match on ECW, the Straightedge Superstar is once again the top contender for the ECW Championship held by John Morrison.
Punk promised Morrison he'd back off, but Punk has returned again with his eyes set on ECW gold. Boogeyman and Big Daddy V were knocked out of the Fatal Four Way Match early, and Punk and The Miz battled it out for a chance at the ECW Title. Punk hit The Miz with a springboard clothesline, followed by a G.T.S., earning Punk the win.
Punk's next journey seeking Morrison's ECW Championship may not be an easy one. While Big Daddy V couldn't plow through The Miz, Punk and Boogeyman, it's clear the behemoth destroyer -- with Matt Striker in tow -- is looming in the background as Punk is looking for ECW gold.
But can Punk's rebirth of energy, after losing what was to be his final chance at the ECW Championship at SummerSlam, give him enough power to face Morrison and win this time? Find out on ECW on Sci Fi, Tuesday night at 10/9 CT.
