ECW Champion Kane def. Chavo Guerrero

ECW Champion Kane def. Chavo Guerrero

BALTIMORE -- Fire still burns in the Land of the Extreme as ECW Champion Kane solidified his status at the top of the extreme brand by pinning Chavo Guerrero. The win comes four weeks after the Big Red Machine won the title from Guerrero at WrestleMania XXIV in a mere eight seconds.

Since ‘Mania, the self-proclaimed "Mexican Warrior" has been a thorn in Kane's side. With the help of Edge, Curt Hawkins, Zack Ryder and his new personal bodyguard, Bam Neely, Chavo has attacked the ECW Champion on numerous occasions. He and his family of associates did everything in their power to give Guerrero the advantage heading into Backlash, but they weren't able to finish off the pyromaniac when it mattered most.

Edge took a personal interest in Chavo's rivalry with Kane. The Rated-R Superstar found himself in a situation similar to that of Chavo's as they each lost their respective titles to one of the Brothers of Destruction at The Granddaddy of Them All. Edge and Chavo banded together in the common interest of taking the titles from Kane and Undertaker's family and returning them to their own.

Now that the Big Red Machine has proven his championship reign is no fluke, will Chavo Guerrero back off? Or will he continue to make Kane's life a living hell on ECW?
