At SummerSlam, Jon Stewart played the role of spoiler when he thwarted John Cena’s chances at victory over Seth Rollins by leveling The Champ with a steel chair to the gut. During Sunday night’s Emmy Awards, no such hijinx would ruin Stewart’s night after the retired talk show host took home gold statuettes for writing as well as Outstanding Variety Talk Series for “The Daily Show with Jon Stewart,” despite a clip of Cena hitting an Attitude Adjustment on Stewart playing on a loop during the writing nomination video package. WWE would like to congratulate Stewart and his colleagues on the well-deserved recognition.
