WWE Superstars dominate Twitter’s Most Mentioned Sportswomen list
It’s International Women’s Day, and the official Twitter Women account has been steadily posting lists of the “most influential and inspiring women” across the entire social media service over the past year. One list in particular has some familiar females on it — led, ironically, by The Man.
Six of Twitter’s ten most mentioned sportswomen are current WWE Superstars, the highest-ranked being two-time SmackDown Women’s Champion and grassroots hero extraordinaire Becky Lynch at No. 2. (The only woman to outrank The Man? Serena Williams.)
The Irish Lass Kicker’s contemporaries are Raw Women’s Champion Ronda Rousey (No. 4), Charlotte Flair (No. 5), WWE Women’s Tag Team Champion Sasha Banks (No. 6), Alexa Bliss (No. 7) and Nia Jax (No. 10).
Points were scored. Serves were made. Here are the most mentioned sportswomen on Twitter. #SheInspiresMe
