The Rock wins 2017 NAACP Image Award for Entertainer of the Year
The Rock took home a top honor at the 2017 NAACP Image Awards Saturday night, winning the award for Entertainer of the Year.
The People’s Champ, who delighted audiences in Disney’s “Moana” and stars in the HBO series “Ballers,” topped fellow nominees Beyoncé, Chance the Rapper, Viola Davis and Regina King.
The Great One took to Twitter to express gratitude for the award:
Thank you @NAACP! Honored for me to celebrate the excellence of everyone tonight. #Grateful #NAACPImageAwards https://t.co/Ry6uJRkZ3j

The 10-time World Champion also co-starred alongside Kevin Hart in “Central Intelligence” and made a headline-grabbing appearance at WrestleMania 32, joining forces with John Cena to repel The Wyatt Family from the ring, in 2016. And, just last month, The Rock won the People’s Choice Award for Favorite Premium Series Actor for his work in “Ballers,” further cementing his status as The Most Electrifying Man in All of Entertainment.
