Jushin "Thunder" Liger def. Tyler Breeze

BROOKLYN, N.Y.  Jushin "Thunder" Liger made his WWE debut in front of 15,589 strong at NXT TakeOver: Brooklyn, taking on Tyler Breeze in the opening contest. Liger immediately proved to be the competition Breeze had been yearning for, locking Prince Pretty in several unique and painful submission holds in the early goings. However, Breeze was able to take control after Liger began to joke around with the pretty one’s signature selfie stick. Breeze was able to wear down the Japanese legend as the match wore on, countering several of Liger’s high-risk attempts.

Prince Pretty became increasingly frustrated at Liger’s refusal to stay down for three, which allowed Liger the opening to catch Breeze off guard, leading into his patented Liger Bomb to obtain the victory.

The Vaudevillains (w/ Blue Pants) def. Blake and Murphy (w/Alexa Bliss) - NXT Tag Team Championship Match

NXT Tag Team Champions Blake, Murphy and Alexa Bliss were shocked prior to the match starting when NXT fan-favorite Blue Pants joined The Vaudevillains at ringside, evening the playing field.

The two teams went back-and-forth in a contest that thrilled the NXT faithful. Following several near falls for both teams, Blue Pants proved to be the ultimate equalizer, taking Bliss out before she could negatively impact the proceedings. This allowed the two teams to duke it out fairly and squarely, leading into The Vaudevillains connecting with the Whirling Dervish to become the new NXT Tag Team Champions.

Apollo Crews def. Tye Dillinger

Apollo Crews knows how to make a first impression.

In his debut contest in NXT, Crews dazzled the NXT Universe with his unbelievable athleticism against “The Perfect 10” Tye Dillinger. Crews’ power and speed proved to be too much for Dillinger. The newcomer ultimately defeated the NXT veteran with a standing moonsault to pick up the victory, on his birthday no less.

Samoa Joe def. Baron Corbin

Samoa Joe and Baron Corbin went toe-to-toe in an absolute slugfest at NXT TakeOver: Brooklyn.

Samoa Joe sends a message to the NXT locker room

The match saw submission specialist Samoa Joe continually attempt to lock in submission holds on the behemoth Corbin. Conversely, Corbin attempted to wear Joe down with unrelenting ground and pound. In the end it was Joe who was able to lock in his signature Kokina Clutch, forcing the referee to call for the bell after Corbin passed out.

Bayley def. Sasha Banks - NXT Women's Championship Match

The Divas Revolution took center-stage at NXT TakeOver: Brooklyn with the NXT Women’s Championship Match. Stephanie McMahon set the scene by reminding the sold out Barclays Center that the revolution began in NXT. Following that, both Bayley and the NXT Women’s Champion entered in style with Bayley paying tribute to Dusty Rhodes by adorning herself in polka dots and Banks riding in to the Barclays Center in a Cadillac Escalade with a full security detail.

In a match that had the hot Brooklyn crowd on their feet from its onset, Bayley and Banks left everything in the ring in their quest for NXT Women’s gold. Both women took an incredible amount of risks throughout the course of the match, however it was finally Bayley who was able to capitalize on a breathtaking reverse hurricanrana from the top turnbuckle which led her into hitting the second, and final, Bayley-to-Belly of the match, allowing NXT’s most popular Diva to finally capture the Women’s Championship.

Bayley achieves her dream

After the match, Charlotte and Becky Lynch came to the ring to congratulate Bayley on her much deserved win. After a few moments, Banks returned to the ring and in a scene very reminiscent of the Madison Square Garden  “Curtain Call” from the infamous Kliq, the four front women of the Divas Revolution each held up the four fingers of the Four Horsewomen and gazed upon the crowd’s adoration. They would all go back to being adversaries tomorrow and beyond, but for one night they basked in the magnitude of what they had all created.

Finn Bálor def. Kevin Owens - NXT Championship Ladder Match

Finn Bálor’s entrance was as chilling as ever as he entered the Barclays Center ready to defend his NXT Championship in a Ladder Match against Kevin Owens at NXT TakeOver: Brooklyn.

The match began with the two combatants trading very physical blows both in and out of the ring before bringing the ladder into play. Both combatants used the ladder as a weapon long before either tried to climb it.

In the closing moments of the match, The Demon was able to persevere through Owens’ Power Bombing him back-first onto the edge of the ring and eating two devastating Super Kicks right to chin before stomping Owens’ with the Coup De Grâce from the top of the ladder, biding him the time to reset the ladder, climb to the top and grasp the NXT Championship to still remain atop the mountain in NXT.
