Io Shirai & Zoey Stark def. Raquel Gonzalez & Dakota Kai and Shotzi Blackheart & Ember Moon
Six of NXT's top Superstars pulled out all the stops in a high-octane Triple Threat Tag Match, including a spectacular sequence that saw several competitors take to the skies in succession.
NXT Women's Champion Raquel Gonzalez shielded partner Dakota Kai from Io Shirai's first moonsault attempt, but The Genius of the Sky later found herself isolated with Kai, and the second time was the charm for the moonsault and the victory.
Shirai and Zoey Stark will challenge The Way for the NXT Women's Tag Team Titles next week at NXT's Great American Bash.
Roderick Strong def. Asher Hale
The Diamond Mine is open for business.
The Messiah of the Backbreaker looked tremendous in his first bout in three months — and very first match as member of The Diamond Mine. Strong made short work of Asher Hale, tapping him out with a unique submission, much to the satisfaction of Malcolm Bivens and company.
Cameron Grimes def. Ari Sterling
Ari Sterling showed potential for a massive upset with spectacular offense, but a missed Shooting Star Press left him vulnerable to a Cave-In, and Cameron Grimes cashed in on the opportunity.
The Technical Savage couldn't celebrate for long as LA Knight arrived at the Capitol Wrestling Center. Grimes extended the challenge for a rematch for the Million Dollar Championship — one Knight accepted on one condition: Grimes will have to serve as Knight's butler if he again comes up short.
Kyle O'Reilly made Adam Cole tap out to the Heel Hook
After last week's melee between Kyle O'Reilly and Adam Cole, NXT's special enforcer Samoa Joe was wisely on the scene this week when O'Reilly called out his former best friend. Cole claimed O'Reilly was not only obsessed with him, but that Cole had carried him for four years on NXT, while O'Reilly declared that he was ashamed to be associated with Cole.
Joe's hopes of keeping them separated proved to be idyllic, as O'Reilly took advantage of an errant swing from Cole and locked on the Heel Hook, making his archrival tap out a week before they collide at NXT's Great American Bash.
Xia Li & Boa def. Mercedes Martinez & Jake Atlas in a Mixed Tag Match
Mercedes Martinez made a costly mistake when she exited the ring to throw down the gauntlet to the menacing Mei Ying, only for Xia Li to capitalize and take control of the match. Li blasted Martinez with a devastating spinning heel kick, forcing a referee's stoppage.
MSK went face to face with Tommaso Ciampa & Timothy Thatcher
Though they share respect, MSK and Tommaso Ciampa & Timothy Thatcher had enough tension to be cut with a knife. Nash Carter took the chance to strike Ciampa first, but Ciampa corralled Thatcher, with The Blackheart dubbing it a "free one" and informing MSK they wouldn't be so lucky come next week's NXT Tag Team Title Match.
Johnny Gargano attacked Karrion Kross throughout the night
The issue between NXT Champion Karrion Kross and Johnny Gargano appears to be far from settled. First, Gargano & Austin Theory ambushed the doomsday destroyer, prompting Kross to later call out Johnny Wrestling. Gargano effectively baited Kross while Theory attacked him from behind, though Kross eventually gained the upper hand and looked to take out Gargano with the steel steps before he was wrangled by security — only to be leveled by a Gargano superkick.
Again, Gargano & Theory assaulted Kross, this time in the parking lot as Kross was getting in his car to leave. With Kross seemingly down and out after being smashed repeatedly with his own car door, Kross reemerged to take down Gargano with the Kross Jacket.
In an unthinkable act, Kross seemingly appeared set on running over Gargano, only for Samoa Joe to pull Gargano out of harm's way in the nick of time.
Isaiah "Swerve" Scott def. Bronson Reed to become the new NXT North American Champion
After telling the NXT Universe as much for weeks, Isaiah "Swerve" Scott proved to the whole world he really is built different.
Though Bronson Reed controlled much of the bout, Scott refused to stay down, and it eventually paid off. After remaining uninvolved at ringside for much of the bout, Hit Row made their presence felt, targeting The Colossal Superstar. Reed was ready, sending Top Dolla through the ringside plexiglass in shocking fashion before tossing Ashante "Thee" Adonis over the barricade as well.
But the time spent on the outside allowed "Swerve" to recover, and he connected with the House Call on Reed as he attempted to reenter the ring. Following with a jaw-dropping 450 splash, Scott made the cover to win his first championship gold in WWE.
