At Vengeance, ECW's Rob Van Dam once again proved the critics wrong as he successfully defended his WWE Championship over RAW's Rated-R Superstar, Edge. The Champion survived interference from Lita, and later, used a 5-Star Frogsplash to score the 1-2-3, retaining the gold he worked for more than 15 years to hold.

Ric Flair may have defeated Mick Foley in the 2-out-of-3 Falls Match at Vengeance, but the Hardcore Legend made sure the last image fans in Charlotte saw of their hometown hero was a bloody one.

It seems like the first time is the charm for Johnny Nitro. In his first championship opportunity on SmackDown, Nitro won the WWE Tag Team Championship; lightning struck again at Vengeance, as the red-carpet darling defeated Carlito and Shelton Benjamin in a Triple Threat Match to win the Intercontinental Championship.

The numbers were in the Spirit Squad's favor at Vengeance in the 5-on-2 Handicap Match. Unfortunately for them, those two men weren't ordinary RAW Superstars…they were two of the best ever, Shawn Michaels and Triple H. And when all was said and done, the reunited DX overcame the odds to defeat the cheerleading quintet.

At Vengeance, Randy Orton finally got his revenge. The Legend Killer finally conquered the Wrestling Machine, taking advantage of an exposed turnbuckle to RKO ECW's Olympic Hero.

At Vengeance, WWE's John Cena survived Extreme Rules in defeating ECW's Suicidal, Homicidal, Genocidal, Death-Defying Maniac, Sabu. The former WWE Champion came out the victor in an Extreme Lumberjack Match that included steel chairs, Singapore canes and a table. In the end, it was a submission hold that put Sabu away.

Since debuting on RAW in April, the Samoan Bulldozer, Umaga, has plowed through every opponent that's been brave enough to step into the ring with him. At Vengeance that trend continued, as well as Umaga's impressive undefeated streak, as he faced off against Eugene.

Going into Vengeance, Kane was sure that he would vanquish his impostor once and for all. Instead, the Big Red Monster got a taste of his own medicine en route to an unforgettable loss.
