Matt Riddle def. AJ Styles – Non-Title Match
AJ Styles was set to celebrate with an Intercontinental Championship presentation, but a certified Bro stole the show. Matt Riddle crashed Styles’ party with his SmackDown debut and was thrust into an impromptu showdown with The Phenomenal One. The Original Bro started the match like he was shot out of a cannon, landing a German suplex and a Gutwrench throw right after the opening bell. The Intercontinental Champion did his best to chop down the newcomer, but when Styles turned his attention to Daniel Bryan outside the ring, Riddle capitalized with a ferocious Bro Derek for the win.
Shorty G def. Mojo Rawley
Shorty G grabbed an early upper hand with a backstage jab to Mojo Rawley before entering the ring. The scrappy Superstar was not discouraged by the size disparity but was pushed down early by Rawley. When presented with an opportunity, Shorty G seized it with an impressive counter into an inside cradle for the victory.
The New Day def. Lucha House Party
After a setback against Shinsuke Nakamura & Cesaro, The New Day looked to regain their championship form against Lucha House Party. The SmackDown Tag Team Champions teamed up for an aerial assault to get the victory, but The King of Strong Style & The Swiss Cyborg wasted no time springing into action against the titleholders. With last week’s victory and this brutal attack, Nakamura & Cesaro continue to state their case for a championship opportunity.
Sasha Banks def. Nikki Cross
The Women’s Tag Team Champions once again took their talents to the announce booth this week, but Nikki Cross & Alexa Bliss took exception to their latest round of disparaging comments. Cross was particularly disturbed, as she attacked Sasha Banks to set up a match with her outspoken rival. Cross’ aggression carried over into the bout, but The Boss countered with a Meteora and pin to flex her muscle as a Golden Role Model.
