SmackDown Five-Point Preview: Nov. 30, 2012

Why has John Cena come back to SmackDown?

Tonight, John Cena follows up last week’s rare Friday night appearance with his second SmackDown in as many weeks — starting things off at the top of the show. But what prompts the Cenation leader to revisit the blue brand? In this case, it may just be all about the “Money.”

After the 10-time WWE Champion defeated adversary Dolph Ziggler in an epic one-on-one battle Monday on Raw, he was left limping as he tweaked his previously injured knee. But maybe that wasn’t the only lingering effect of their battle.

Throughout the “AJ scandal,” Ziggler has clearly been obsessed with Cena, but has Cena begun to zero in on Ziggler as well? Further to the point, has Cena come to Friday night specifically seeking The Showoff? And if so, what does he have in mind for his mouthy foe?

Will The Showoff regain his momentum against The Celtic Warrior?

Speaking of Dolph Ziggler, Mr. Money in the Bank will battle Sheamus tonight. And while WWE Main Event may take place on Wednesday nights, this Friday’s main event will prove to be a timeless affair.

Coming off one of the greatest weeks in WWE history after outlasting the rest to become the sole survivor in the Traditional Survivor Series Elimination Tag Team Match, The Showoff followed up his pay-per-view victory with a fierce attack on John Cena and back-to-back wins. But that streak was snapped Monday night when Ziggler met Cena in a hard-fought bout that saw the injured Cenation leader limp away with a huge win. That said, Ziggler will surely look to regain last week’s momentum as he faces off against Sheamus in SmackDown’s massive main event.

A Friday night victory over The Celtic Warrior would be just what the doctor ordered to get Mr. Money in the Bank back on track. But as the WWE Universe — and the entire WWE roster — knows, Sheamus likes nothing more than to fight, and he will undoubtedly bring his brutal, brawling ways to the SmackDown showdown as he prepares to face World Heavyweight Champion Big Show in a World Title Chair Match at WWE TLC: Tables, Ladders and Chairs.

Can the Tag Team Champions coexist with the Intercontinental Champion?

By now, the WWE Universe knows just how dysfunctional Tag Team Champions Team Hell No can be. This week on SmackDown, though, Kane & Daniel Bryan won’t just have to get along with each other — they’ll also have to coexist with Intercontinental Champion Kofi Kingston only four days after a ruthless attack on Kane by The Shield.

Can the trio become one big, happy family as they face off against the combined might of Wade Barrett & The Prime Time Players? Or will Team Hell No get in its own way yet again and cost Kofi what would certainly be sweet retribution over Barrett?

And will Dean Ambrose, Roman Reigns and Seth Rollins opt to launch another attack on the golden trio?

How will Damien Sandow further enlighten the masses?

Coming off a WWE Main Event loss to John Cena on Wednesday, Damien Sandow arrives on SmackDown with a purpose. With Cody Rhodes — and, for that matter, Team Rhodes Scholars — on the shelf for the moment, Sandow once again navigates the murky waters of singles competition. The intellectual Superstar will certainly look to get back on track in that regard with a win Friday night on the very show that has allowed him to flourish.

Will 3MB keep rocking on Friday night?

To prove the old adage that the whole becomes greater than the sum of its parts, Heath Slater, Jinder Mahal & Drew McIntyre take their “world tour” to Bossier City, La., tonight, looking to continue their winning ways against The Usos.

As singles competitors, the members of 3MB floundered, but as a cohesive unit — as a band — 3MB has flourished. And with a match on tap against the always amped-up sons of Rikishi, the WWE Universe can expect a high-octane performance from both teams.
