The Miz welcomed special guest Cody Rhodes to “Miz TV” prior to their Raw matchup
Before taking on The Miz in his first Raw match in six years, The American Nightmare joined the outspoken A-Lister on “Miz TV.” As Miz egged on his imminent opponent, The American Nightmare took it all in stride.
Although Miz eventually grew angry with his guest, Rhodes kept his cool. Along the way, he made the comment that anytime his WrestleMania opponent Seth Rollins wanted a rematch, he would more than happy to oblige. He also said that he respected Miz and that he couldn't wait for their match later in the evening. When Miz attempted to attack from behind, though, Rhodes sent him through the ropes and humiliated the host.
Veer Mahaan def. Dominik Mysterio via Submission
After Veer Mahaan emerged to brutalize The Mysterios last week, the imposing Superstar made Dominik Mysterio tap out in dominant fashion to his excruciating Cervical Clutch in his first match on Raw. Unsatisfied with mere victory, The Lion quickly reapplied the submission, not once, but twice after the bell. This brutal assault resulted in Dominik to be taken away on a stretcher into an ambulance.
AJ Styles vs. Damian Priest ended in a No-Contest
After he and Edge ruthlessly took down AJ Styles when he confronted them on the Raw after WrestleMania, the unhinged Damian Priest went one-on-one with The Phenomenal One. Before the match, the two Superstars brawled in the backstage area earlier in the day. In the match, Priest countered Styles' Phenomenal Forearm attempt with a vicious boot that sent his opponent to the ringside floor. He then got down on one knee in the center of the ring and, as he pledged allegiance to Edge, the arena lights went out, and he alone was in the spotlight.
Tommaso Ciampa joined the Raw roster
Cody Rhodes def. The Miz
In his first Raw match in six years, Cody Rhodes engaged The Miz in an extremely hard-fought contest. After tweaking his knee coming off the top rope and fighting his way through an excruciating Figure-Four by The A-Lister, Cody roared back and overcame his foe with the Cody Cutter/Cross Rhodes combination for the three-count.
In the wake of Rhodes' victory, Seth "Freakin" Rollins left his seat alongside the commentary desk and challenged The American Nightmare to a "Rollins vs. Rhodes Part II" at WrestleMania Backlash. Rhodes agreed without hesitation, setting the stage for what is sure to be an instant classic at the May 8 Premium Live Event.
Naomi def. Liv Morgan
With Rhea Ripley unable to be on Monday Night Raw, the previously scheduled Women’s Tag Team Championship Match was postponed until next week, and Liv Morgan attempted to follow up her victory over Sasha Banks on SmackDown against Naomi. In the end of the explosive matchup, The Glow got the better of a wild exchange of multiple pin attempts to pick up the three-count.
Bobby Lashley destroyed “The VIP Lounge” as he engaged in a war of words with MVP and Omos
After MVP betrayed Bobby Lashley last week and helped Omos launch a sneak attack, The All Mighty invited himself onto “The VIP Lounge” and dismantled the set during a heated exchange with his former cohort and Omos.
Bianca Belair def. Queen Zelina; Sonya Deville tricked Belair into giving her a Raw Women's Title Match
One week after breaking off her partnership with Carmella, Queen Zelina fell short in a Championship Contender's Match against Raw Women’s Champion Bianca Belair after The EST of WWE hit the K.O.D.
In the wake of her victory, Belair was interrupted by WWE Official Sonya Deville. Congratulating the new titleholder on her monumental WrestleMania victory, the WWE official presented her with an open contract for her title to prove what a fighting champion she is. When Bianca signed it, however, Deville attacked her from behind and signed the contract to give herself a title match.
RK-Bro def. Alpha Academy
After WrestleMania, Chad Gable & Otis once again took on Raw Tag Team Champions Randy Orton & Riddle in a classic tag team showdown, and The Viper hit a devastating RKO on Gable for the victory. A-Thank You!
Following their win, RK-Bro was suddenly interrupted by SmackDown Tag Team Champions The Usos. Last Friday on SmackDown, the new Undisputed WWE Universal Champion Roman Reigns had given his Bloodline cousins a mission to unify the Tag Team Championships.
As the two tandems went back and forth in an intense discussion, though, Montez Ford & Angelo Dawkins entered the fray as well. Unhappy that Jimmy & Jey were looking to jump the line when they deserved a title showdown, the struggle ended with RK-Bro suggested that The Usos take on The Street Profits to prove who deserves a title bout.
The Usos def. The Street Profits in a high-stakes team team showdown
In the final moments of the high-stakes tag team showdown, Jimmy & Jey hurled Angelo Dawkins into the ring post. This soon opened the door for them to hit One and Done on Montez Ford to emerge triumphant.
In the aftermath, The Usos stepped out of the ring after standing face-to-face with Raw Tag Team Champions RK-Bro. When order broke down between The Street Profits and RK-Bro, The Usos returned to hit a double Superkick on The Viper and held the SmackDown and Raw Tag Team Titles above their head. This brought them one step closer to Reigns' mandate to unify the gold.
