ORLANDO, Fla. — Personal problems require a personal solution. And for Edge, it’s become increasingly clear that there’s only one place for him to deal with Randy Orton: WrestleMania. And he has just the stipulation to mark the occasion.
Taking advantage of the sparse, intimate setting (to say nothing of the intimate nature of the rivalry), Edge stared directly into the camera and challenged The Viper to a Last Man Standing Match, appropriately enough for a history that has stretched for 20 years. And while Edge claimed that Orton doesn’t love him and is instead an “entitled brat” jealous of Edge’s talent and “grit,” he did offer Orton a twisted “thank you” of sorts for stopping Beth Phoenix from announcing what was going to be Edge’s second retirement two weeks ago.
Edge believes he and Orton are even and that after all the times The Ultimate Opportunist saved Orton from himself, The Apex Predator has returned the favor. And if Orton “has the guts,” Edge is ready to show him exactly who he’s saved.
