Don’t count Bayley out just yet. Fresh off pinning Alexa Bliss in tag team action seven days ago, Bayley scored a singles win over the reigning Raw Women's Champion in a non-title bout, closing the gap between her and The Wicked Witch of WWE, who has held the entire Women's division at arm's length for months.
Nia Jax, who had prowled at ringside for the entire match, attempted to tilt the odds in Bliss’ favor, but Sasha Banks arrived to neutralize the intruder, providing Bayley with one of her clutch assists. The Huggable One capitalized on the suddenly-even playing field with a punishing Bayley-to-Belly for the win.
All of which means both Bayley and Banks, who could have won the title at WWE Great Balls of Fire if not for Little Miss Bliss getting herself counted out, both have a claim to be Bliss' challenger. So, Raw General Manager Kurt Angle split the difference, sanctioning Bayley vs. Banks for next week, with the winner to challenge Alexa for the championship at SummerSlam.
