LOS ANGELES — The King of the Cruiserweights has lost his crown — because Enzo Amore snatched it.
After being kicked in the so-called crown jewels by Enzo on 205 Live, Neville had promised a “quick affair” against Muscles Marinara in one of the most unlikely WWE Cruiserweight Title defenses in history. But the high-flying Englishman ended up on the wrong end of said history when he attempted to expose Enzo’s supposed deficiencies as an athlete and combatant instead of putting him away as early as possible.
It didn’t matter that Enzo only got a handful of maneuvers in on offense. The King of the Cruiserweights’ insistence on playing with his food kept The Realest Guy in the Room in the fight long enough for him to employ his own strategy of smart-not-fair when it comes to achieving the victory. Neville's greatest mistake was not going for the Red Arrow when he had the chance, instead transitioning (slowly) into a second-rope Phoenix Splash that missed its mark.
Enzo answered with a top-rope “DDG,” and Neville suddenly had himself a match. And when Neville gets challenged, he gets angry. The King of the Cruiserweights threw Amore into the timekeeper’s area in hopes of another count-out, but Enzo quickly grabbed hold of Neville’s WWE Cruiserweight Championship, leading to a tense standoff between champion, challenger and referee when Enzo got back in the ring with the championship.
After being threatened with disqualification, Enzo handed the title back to the official, and while the zebra’s back was turned, Muscles Marinara administered another savage low-blow to The King of the Cruiserweights and rolled him up for three. How you doin’, 205 Live?
