John Cena def. Randy Orton inside Hell in a Cell for a future WWE World Heavyweight Title Match against Brock Lesnar

DALLAS– In one of the most grueling showdowns of their 10-year rivalry, John Cena and Randy Orton would use the intimidating confines of a 20-foot-high, five-ton structure to absolutely rip each other apart. In reigning supreme over The Viper in the first of two Hell in a Cell Matches of WWE’s Network monumental pay-per-view, the 15-time World Champion has earned a WWE World Heavyweight Title Match against the current champion, Brock Lesnar.

Cena’s victory was anything but easy, though. Almost instantly, Orton gained the early advantage and would not let go. In fact, it wasn’t long before the vicious serpentine Superstar would incorporate a steel chair into his already venemous arsenal, before raking his longstanding opponent’s face into the dreaded metal Cell.

Though Cena would momentarily power his way back into contention and use the Cell to his advantage, WWE’s Apex Predator once again countered and threw the Cenation leader into the steel post, legs first.

Tough as nails, Cena fought back again, and before long both Superstars began to hurl each other into the Cell. Cena soon introduced a table into the ring, but Orton would counter an attempted Attitude Adjustment onto it, and launched his opponent into the steel chair that was still resting against the turnbuckle.

Hitting an earth-shattering, mid-air RKO, Orton next put Cena though a table, then tried to a steel-infused RKO after placing the ring steps in the ring. Cena escaped that fate, though he was unable to execute the Attitude Adjustment when The Viper countered with a low blow.

Orton then attempted to punt Cena, but the Cenation leader  ducked out of the way and trapped The Viper in the STF. Orton managed to crawl out of the ring, and before long, he reminded Cena and the entire WWE Universe why he was WWE’s Apex Predator, countering  Cena’s Attitude Adjustment in midair with an incredible inverted RKO.

The Superstars’ hellacious battle soon carried over to the top rope. Though Cena was unable to hit the leg drop onto the tabled Orton and Orton couldn’t hit the RKO from the same height, Cena would ultimately rise above and execute an amazing Attitude Adjustment onto the table for the victory.

Most would celebrate such an unbelievable victory, but Cena was already focused past Orton and the Hell in a Cell Match he had just endured; instead, he stared up at Paul Heyman, making the statement that he wants Lesnar, and the WWE World Heavyweight Title.

Though he ultimately survived The Viper inside the career-changing Cell, it remains to be seen what John Cena has actually won. Will he finally be able to conquer The Beast Incarnate? Or is he simply, as Paul Heyman suggested a week earlier on Raw, the ultimate loser?
