With Halloween on the horizon, WWE.com asked current Superstars and Divas the question: What moment in sports-entertainment history scared you the most when you were a kid? Beware, their answers may be terrifying.

Paige was scared of Kane

Paige defends her Divas Title against Brie Bella until Kane makes a surprise appearance.

Paige is not only the youngest woman ever to capture the Divas Championship, but also the youngest competitor currently on WWE’s roster. In fact, she is still competing alongside the Superstar that scared her as a kid.

PAIGE: Kane used to scare the living daylights out of me. He was so intimidating when he wore that mask. Anytime he would face Undertaker, those matches used to petrify me.

Remember when he used to drag people through the ring? I would be going to bed at night and I’d be like, “What if he reaches through my bed and drags me to hell?” I remember being like, “God, if I meet him one day, I can’t imagine what I would do. Probably run and hide.”

Kofi Kingston and Hornswoggle were scared of Papa Shango

"Mean" Gene Okerlund explores Papa Shango's voodoo powers and his rivalry with Ultimate Warrior.

Papa Shango’s spine-tingling voodoo wizardry struck fear throughout the WWE Universe in the early ’90s. The skeleton-faced Superstar had multiple disturbing encounters with Ultimate Warrior in 1992, leaving Kofi Kingston horrified!

KOFI KINGSTON: When Papa Shango put the hex on Ultimate Warrior and green slime started coming down Warrior’s face, that was pretty scary to me.

HORNSWOGGLE: I was deftly afraid of Papa Shango. He made my No. 1 guy vomit and made black stuff come out of his head … scared me to death. I would say Papa Shango is the scariest Superstar in WWE history.

Natalya was scared of dinner at the Hart house

Natalya grew up in wrestling royalty as a member of the legendary Hart family. We knew The Hart Dungeon was a place to be feared for young wrestlers, but who knew that dinner at the Hart home could be just as scary?

NATALYA: I’ll tell you what was scary … dinner at the Hart house. You never knew what was going to walk in. You had everybody from Andre the Giant to Sky Low Low. One time my grandfather [Stu Hart] had a bear hidden in The Hart Dungeon that he was going to be using for one of his shows. It was pretty intense.

And you never knew what he was going to do for dinner. My grandfather tended to scoop cat poop from the litter box. Apparently, there is an old Hart folktale that he also used it as a spatula for eggs. Now that’s scary. I’m not going to confirm or deny it, but that’s scary.

Big E was scared of The Dungeon of Doom

In the eyes of a grownup, The Dungeon of Doom’s over-the-top theatrics may have fallen short of being considered frightening, but don't tell that to a little Big E. As a child, the former Intercontinental Champion was left shaking in his tiny wrestling boots whenever the wacky group appeared on TV.

BIG E: Scary stuff for me was The Dungeon of Doom. I legitimately remember hiding behind the couch when their segments would come on. It was just frightening with the smoke-filled room, and Kevin Sullivan was scary as The Taskmaster. It was all just frightening to me as a kid. Every segment scared the life out of me.

Zack Ryder was scared of Earthquake

You could argue that Jake "The Snake" Roberts' pet python Damien could be terrifying to a young child. However, Damien was like a pet to Zack Ryder. That's why Earthquake lowering his nearly 500-pound frame on the Hall of Famer’s reptile friend proved to be a traumatic experience for the young Broski.

ZACK RYDER: When Earthquake squashed Damien, that was scary. Damien was just a snake that you thought of as your own pet. Earthquake — this giant man — had Damien in the middle of the ring and he was running and I was like, “Oh no, he’s not going to do it, he’s not going to do it!” Then he just squished him. I had this little rubber toy snake Damien, and I figured it was probably dead, because this giant man just sat on it. That was terrifying.

Xavier Woods was scared of The Brood

Watch The Brood - Gangrel, Edge and Christian - make their way to the ring for competition.

Before Edge & Christian won seven World Tag Team Championships together, they were haunting opponents as a part of The Brood. The bloodthirsty trio sent chills down the spines of opponents and viewers alike. Xavier Woods tells of the horror he felt as a child, watching the three blond-haired vampire wannabes rise from a stage of fire.

XAVIER WOODS: The Brood was scary … coming up from the entranceway with the fire surrounding them. At first glance, as a child seeing that, I didn’t know they were coming up out of the stage. I thought they were literally coming up out of fire. I was like, “This is some next-level stuff going on and I can’t deal with this, because they are like Phoenix coming from the ashes.”

Sami Zayn was scared of Jake "The Snake" Roberts and The Undertaker

A dream wedding turns into a nightmare for Randy Savage & Elizabeth when The Undertaker & Jake Roberts crash the party.

The dream wedding of "Macho Man" Randy Savage and Miss Elizabeth turned into a nightmare after Jake “The Snake” Roberts and The Undertaker crashed the joyous occasion at SummerSlam 1991. The chaotic ordeal left a young Sami Zayn watching at home, aghast at what he was seeing.

SAMI ZAYN: One moment that had a profound effect on me was when Jake “The Snake” Roberts and The Undertaker ruined “Macho Man” Randy Savage’s wedding. There was no cursing in WWE during that time and when they did that, Vince McMahon said on commentary, “That son of a … !” and it was bleeped out. That was the worst insult in the world when I was a kid. I was always like, “Why are they insulting the guy’s mother?”

I remember the feelings that stirred up inside me. It wasn’t fear, but it was very tense and very real. I had such discomfort that I’m almost feeling it right now just talking about it. Just this discomfort in your chest and your stomach, like nerves and anxiety that you’re not supposed to feel when you’re seven years-old.
