Led by quarterback Tom Brady and wide receiver Julian Edelman, the New England Patriots defeated the Los Angeles Rams, 13-3, to clinch their sixth Super Bowl victory with Brady under center and head coach Bill Belichick on the sidelines. To celebrate the victory, New England native Triple H sent the Pats a custom WWE Championship … again.
The Patriots received the title in time for Tuesday's parade in Boston. Players like Trey Flowers and Deatrich Wise Jr. proudly carried the title from the duck boat that carried them through the streets of the city.
Mojo Rawley was in attendance to root on his buddy, tight end Rob Gronkowski — you might remember when “Gronk” helped Rawley win the 2017 Andre the Giant Memorial Battle Royal at WrestleMania 33.
With the game tied late in the fourth quarter, Rawley was concerned that he would have to interfere to help his pal out. But the Patriots scored the decisive touchdown, and a field goal put the Super Bowl out of reach, allowing Rawley to finish watching the game in peace.
WWE announcer Dasha Fuentes praised Brady and the Patriots on their seemingly unending dynasty.
The Patriots have now received three special titles from Triple H — with the others coming for Super Bowl wins in 2015 and 2017. At this rate, they’ll close in on The Game’s 14 World Titles before you know it.
