Led by captain Sidney Crosby and 22-year-old goalie Matt Murray, the Pittsburgh Penguins clinched the fourth Stanley Cup in the franchise's 49-year history with a 3-1 win over the San Jose Sharks in Game 6 of the Stanley Cup Finals. Triple H sent a custom WWE World Heavyweight Championship featuring the Penguins’ logo to the team to celebrate their Cup.
The Penguins made at least one big fan during this postseason run: WWE Hall of Famer Shawn Michaels. HBK became the toast of Pittsburgh as the trio of Carl Hagelin, Nick Bonino and Phil Kessel — affectionately dubbed the “HBK line” — found great success together.
Not really a hockey fan, Michaels started to follow the Penguins’ progress and tweet his comments about the games, and he even attended an Eastern Conference Final game, sporting a custom Pens jersey, in Pittsburgh’s CONSOL Energy Center.
Bonino, the “B” in the HBK Line, showed off the title before the Penguins’ victory parade on Wednesday.
