John Cena just might square off against hordes of aliens and common decency as infamous 1990s video game character Duke Nukem for a forthcoming film adaptation of the franchise.
In an interview with Screen Rant, Cena said he hopes the long-rumored film stays true to the character, emphasizing that the story needs to be right.
“I’m very honored to be attached to that, but that is a very fragile franchise,” Cena said of the “Duke Nukem” series. “That was one that was very timeline specific, that is 1990s to the hilt.”
He added, “… what a blessing to be attached to that, a name like that, and I just hope development does the franchise justice.”
