Superstars present custom WWE Championship to Manchester Arena staff, Emergency Services
While in Manchester, England, for Monday Night Raw, WWE and several Raw Superstars presented a custom WWE Championship to the General Manager and staff of the Manchester Arena. The presentation recognized the selfless actions of the venue’s staff and all emergency service first responders following a deadly terrorist attack that occurred last May.
The custom championship – presented backstage at the arena by Bayley, Matt Hardy, Titus O’Neil and Mickie James – includes specially designed side plates: One designated for Manchester Arena and its staff, the other for Manchester’s Emergency Services.
James Allen, General Manager of Manchester Arena, accepted the customized title on behalf of the entire staff, as well as in recognition of all first responders and emergency services.
“To the staff of the Manchester Arena and the incredible Emergency Services who put their lives before others to help, we thank you,” Hardy expressed to Allen and several staff members. “As a token of our respect and gratitude, we present you with this WWE Title, our way of recognizing true champions.”
“WWE has a fantastic and longstanding relationship with the Manchester Arena, dating back almost 20 years,” O’Neil said during the presentation. “As we have done for two decades, as we will tonight and tomorrow night, and as we will into the future … we stand with you, and we stand with Manchester.”
