They’ve done it again. Only two weeks removed from propelling See No Evil into the top 10 new movie releases, the WWE fans have hit record stores in force. The loyal WWE fans have been scooping up copies of Wreckless Intent by the tens of thousands and in the process have vaulted the new album into a Top 10 debut on this week’s Billboard Top 200 chart.

Wreckless Intent, which is now in stores, has secured the No. 8 slot on the Billboard chart, joining exclusive company that includes talented artists like The Dixie Chicks, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Don Omar and Tool. WWE.com caught up with Neil Lawi, General Manager of WWE Music Group, to get his thoughts on the big news.

Lawi, who helped coordinate the effort, realizes the significance of the albums smashing first week. “Having a Top 10 debut with Wreckless Intent solidifies WWE’s position as a major player in the music and entertainment industry.”

The opportunities provided by WWE’s partnership with the best in the music business are endless. Just recently, Academy Award winning rap artists Three 6 Mafia performed live on SmackDown. As Lawi points out, “Where else can you see ‘The World’s Strongest Man’ Mark Henry walk out on stage while one of the biggest groups in all of hip hop are performing his entrance theme?”

Wreckless Intent features tracks from some of music’s elite such as Saliva, Three 6 Mafia, P.O.D., Motorhead, Silkk the Shocker and Killswitch Engage.
