Io Shirai demonstrated yet again why she's the best of the best at NXT TakeOver 31, overcoming Candice LeRae to retain the NXT Women's Championship. But holding onto that title may prove to be more difficult than ever.
The Genius of the Sky was confronted by not one, but two potential challengers in Ember Moon and Toni Storm.
First, Storm appeared on the video board, congratulating Shirai on her victory. More importantly, the former NXT UK Women's Champion also declared that she is back on NXT and plans on turning the black-and-gold brown "upside-down and inside-out."
More unexpected company was on the way for Shirai. Moon revealed herself as the mysterious, helmeted motorcyclist seen on NXT in recent weeks, and the Capitol Wrestling Center came unglued at the arrival of the former NXT Women's Champion.
Shirai has shown repeatedly why she's among the black-and-gold brand's elite. Is she ready for the new challenges coming her way?
