The No. 1 Contender to the NXT Championship will be decided in a match between Ilja Dragunov and Wes Lee. 

The champion Carmelo Hayes broke the news to his two rivals that they’ll battle to see who’ll earn a championship opportunity at NXT No Mercy, and he’s confident regardless of who’ll win. 

Since losing the NXT North American Championship to “Dirty” Dominik Mysterio, Lee has grown increasingly volatile and uncharacteristically lashed out on several occasions.

Dragunov, meanwhile, took Hayes to the limit at the Great American Bash and is determined to get another opportunity.
