LAREDO, Texas — Exclusively on WWE Network, WWE Main Event kicked off with Alberto Del Rio proudly touting his Mexican heritage. But Jack Swagger and Zeb Colter countered with harsh criticism and acceptance of Del Rio’s challenge for a match later in the night.

Heath Slater & Titus O'Neil def. Stardust & Goldust

Before the tag team action began, Heath Slater recalled his  huge singles victory over Seth Rollins on Raw. In a quick bout, O'Neil delivered a big boot to Goldust, allowing Slater to follow-up with a pinfall. Despite the big win, O'Neil was reluctant to join his partner’s exuberant post-match celebration.

Divas Champion AJ Lee def. Summer Rae

Divas Champion AJ Lee appeared to exacerbate her  whiplash injury at the start of her bout against Summer Rae. But utilizing her Black Widow submission hold, the resilient champion forced Summer Rae to tap out. After the bout, AJ declared she will ruin Paige’s fairy tale at SummerSlam, but Paige emerged and promised to take back "her" title at the big summer pay-per-view.

Jack Swagger def. Alberto Del Rio

With Jack Swagger's  Flag Match with Rusev at SummerSlam on the horizon, The Real American went to war with Alberto Del Rio in the Mexican border town of Laredo, Texas. In a fiercely passionate fight, Del Rio targeted Swagger's injured ribs throughout the match. But Swagger dug deep to withstand Del Rio's assault — including escaping a Cross Armbreaker — and lock him in The Patriot Lock to make The Mexican Aristocrat submit.
