WWE Cruiserweight Champion Neville def. Jack Gallagher
MILWAUKEE — Gentleman Jack Gallagher refused to bow to the vicious Neville at WWE Fastlane, but The King of the Cruiserweights nevertheless protected his throne in one of the division’s most brutal matches to date, and will carry the WWE Cruiserweight Championship to WrestleMania.
Utilizing some rarely-seen aerial maneuvers and even a top-rope superplex to counter the brute-force offense of the muscled champion, Gallagher held nothing back as the promise of carrying the crown jewel of the Cruiserweight division to The Showcase of the Immortals hung in the balance. Refusing to stay down, despite Neville’s cruel and continuous assault, Gallagher turned the tide with a duet of headbutts that nearly ended Neville’s dominant reign.
As painful as those two headbutts must have been, it was a third cranial strike to The King of the Cruiserweights that proved most successful, leaving Neville seeing stars on the top turnbuckle. From here, The Gentleman seized the opportunity to attempt yet another superplex, but the wily Neville countered by dumping the challenger to the mat. Then, executing a high-flying move the WWE Universe hasn’t seen for months, Neville hit Gallagher with a Red Arrow to score the win and retain the WWE Cruiserweight Title.
Gentleman Jack Gallagher came close to dethroning him, but Neville remains The King of the Cruiserweights. Who will be next to challenge his rule?
