Speaking on behalf of WWE, SmackDown LIVE General Manager Daniel Bryan revealed that the WWE Cruiserweight Championship has been abdicated, and a WWE 205 Live General Manager will be named next week.

Last week on WWE 205 Live, SmackDown LIVE General Manager Daniel Bryan announced that the WWE Cruiserweight Championship was being held in abeyance and that a new WWE 205 Live General Manager would be introduced to address the future of the division.

Despite the mystery of the new GM’s identity, the Cruiserweight division has been excited about the coming change, and last week on 205 Live, they showed the WWE Universe the high-level of competition they are capable of showcasing. Cedric Alexander and Mustafa Ali battled in an instant classic with each competitor making it known that they aim to set the standard for the division going forward and they will show the new GM exactly why they are the future of WWE 205 Live.
