SmackDown Five-Point Preview: Nov. 29, 2013
Will The Shield take back their championships?
Tonight at 8/7 CT on a special Thanksgiving weekend edition of SmackDown, WWE Tag Team Champions Cody Rhodes & Goldust will put their coveted titles on the line against former champions Seth Rollins & Roman Reigns.
Some might credit The Shield members’ title opportunity to be the result of their victory over the Rhodes brothers & Rey Mysterio in Six-Man Tag Team action on Raw Monday night, in addition to Roman Reigns becoming the sole survivor in their Traditional Elimination Tag Team Match 24 hours earlier. However, others may argue that Reigns & Rollins have not done enough to earn their opportunity at reclaiming the championship gold on the festive episode of the blue brand. Find out who will walk out of the special Thanksgiving edition of SmackDown with the gold around their waists, tonight on Syfy.
Will El Torito make a big splash in debut match?
On tonight’s SmackDown, the fast and furious El Torito will be in action for the very first time, teaming with Los Matadores against "The Plymouth Rockers" – the artists usually known as 3MB.
The WWE Universe has been in the pint-sized charger’s corner ever since he, Diego and Fernando stepped into WWE’s spotlight in September – with El Torito launching post-match attacks on many a Superstar. In recent weeks, the WWE Universe has also seen 3MB take on a number of alter egos. Regardless of their theatrics, however, it will be interesting to see just how much payback Heath Slater, Drew McIntrye & Jinder Mahal will look to extract for the humiliation they have endured at the horns of El Torito.
What will happen when The Viper opens SmackDown?
WWE Champion Randy Orton is scheduled to kick off tonight’s SmackDown, just four days after World Heavyweight Champion John Cena challenged him to an historic Tables, Ladders & Chairs Match at WWE TLC – with both of their titles literally hanging in the balance.
In Triple H’s weekly WWE.com exclusive interview on Wednesday, WWE’s COO said that he wants there to be one champion to represent the company heading into the New Year. But what will WWE’s Apex Predator have to say about the upcoming showdown? Whatever it is, chaos is sure to follow.
What will be the next great moment in a SmackDown holiday special?
By the way, it's worth pointing out that SmackDown has a long history of exciting moments in its various holiday specials – from outrageous food fights, to the first-ever John Cena rap to Hornswoggle winning a Christmas Battle Royal to receive the power of speech from Santa Claus.
As stated earlier, tonight marks a very special Thanksgiving edition of the blue brand. So, odds are by the end of the night, at least one person will be covered in food ... right?
Is a new SmackDown wing in the Hall of Pain imminent?
Twenty-four hours after a dominating surprise return to action at Survivor Series against Ryback, former World Heavyweight Champion Mark Henry “strong-armed” Curtis Axel in tag team competition on Raw.
Now, The World’s Strongest Man returns to SmackDown – a show that he has caused indescribable chaos on in the past– to take on the former Intercontinental Champion one-on-one! What tricks will the cunning son of WWE Hall of Famer Mr. Perfect have up his sleeve? And will Ryback play a part in the destructive action? Find out tonight, only on Syfy!
