SmackDown Five-Point Preview: Nov. 8, 2013
Is Daniel Bryan destined to follow the Buzzards?
A still-bandaged Daniel Bryan wielded a steel chair to help CM Punk even the odds against The Wyatt Family’s post-match assault Monday on Raw – no doubt payback for the brutal attack by The New Face of Fear on The Beard just one week earlier.
Who is the best tag team in WWE? | Latest Triple H WWE.com exclusive interview
Tonight, the 3-time World Champion will go head-to-head with Luke Harper, with both Bray Wyatt and Erick Rowan lurking in the wings. While WWE’s “YES!” Man has shown he has no problem battling several Superstars at once, it remains to be seen if he is healthy enough to stand up against such horrifying odds. And if he’s not, will The Second City Saint look to return the favor and offer Bryan a helping hand … or kick ... or GTS?
What Straight Edge chaos awaits SmackDown?
Speaking of CM Punk, The Straight Edge Superstar is scheduled to kick off SmackDown tonight. Let’s be honest, folks — as JBL says, “we fight on Friday night,” and what begins as mere talk on the blue brand almost always ends as anything but, especially with a Superstar as volatile as The Best in the Word!
Punk's greatest SmackDown moments
But, as to where The Voice of The Voiceless will aim his verbal onslaught, no one can say for sure. Heyman Guys? Wyatt Family? The Authority? Find out tonight at 8/7 CT on Syfy!
Who will look to survive against The Champ?
If all that wasn’t enough, WWE.com has learned that World Heavyweight Champion John Cena will also be back on SmackDown in some capacity tonight.
On the heels of explosive back-to-back Six-Man Tag Team Match victories alongside WWE Tag Team Champions Cody Rhodes & Goldust on both SmackDown and Raw last week, could The Champ now be ready to turn his focus to his yet-to-be-named No. 1 contender for the upcoming Survivor Series pay-per-view?

And who might that opponent be? Former titleholder Alberto Del Rio still has a contractually guaranteed title rematch and has looked as vicious as he does focused since losing the gold at WWE Hell in a Cell. On the other hand, the always-dangerous Damien Sandow made it his mission to end the Cena Era one week ago. In addition, a number of other hungry Superstars such as Big E Langston have been stepping up to the plate lately in a big way.
Who will emerge to challenge The Champ? Find out tonight, only on Syfy!
Will the resurgent ‘Total Divas’ steam roll AJ?
While a good portion of the WWE Universe seems to be clamoring for the return of E!’s hit reality show, “Total Divas” – this Sunday, at 10/9 CT – that portion definitely does not include Divas Champion AJ Lee. The show may have been on mid-season break, but the unpredictable titleholder’s crusade against all things having to do with the reality show remains as strong as ever, leading her to recruit the smash-mouth Tamina Snuka to help in her cause.
Photos of AJ's and her only friend: the Divas Title
The reigning champ has had some bumps in the road recently, but she’s always put down the beauties of “Total Divas” in big money matches.
There’s an element of mystery here, though, as she and Tamina take on The Funkadactyls for the first time in traditional tag team action. The Black Widow, as always, doesn’t appear to have any doubts about her ability in the ring. But, as they say, pride always comes before a fall.
How will the Intellectual strike back?
When Damien Sandow lost to John Cena on the Oct. 28 edition of Raw, he became only the second Superstar to unsuccessfully cash in a Money in the Bank Contract. And he wasn’t happy about it. The furious Intellectual Savior of The Masses declared that his sole purpose in life was to end the Cena Era in WWE – by any means necessary.
That was before he lost back-to-back Six-Man Tag Team Matches to Cena and company on SmackDown and Raw. For Sandow, who calls himself “a man who will stop at nothing to get what he wants,” there is only one possible outcome to this situation. We know his endgame, but the question is: When will Sandow strike next?
