SmackDown Five-Point Preview: Oct. 25, 2013
Who will be hot heading into “Hell”? Will Triple H or Big Show fuel the fire?
In SmackDown’s blockbuster Eight-Man Tag Team Match, Daniel Bryan, Cody Rhodes, Goldust & The Miz will battle Randy Orton & The Shield. While multiple heated rivalries in this talent-laden contest already prophesize an intense showdown, the bout also carries with it major implications for Sunday’s WWE Hell in a Cell pay-per-view, when both the vacant WWE Championship and the WWE Tag Team Championships will be on the line.
Hell in a Cell: CM Punk vs. Ryback & Heyman | Watch the latest exclusive Triple H interview
The question is, who will pick up some invaluable momentum and who will be licking their wounds heading into Miami’s American Airlines Arena on Sunday?
Plus, as COO Triple H has already confirmed, he will be on SmackDown tonight to finish his latest interview with Michael Cole at the top of the show. That being said, will The Authority also play a part in the colossal main event heading into Sunday's pay-per-view? And speaking of colossal, it will be interesting to see whether the fired Big Show will once again emerge on the blue brand as well.
Find out tonight on SmackDown at 8/7 CT, only on Syfy!
Does the imminent World Title Match mean chaos for Friday night?
World Heavyweight Champion Alberto Del Rio has made no secret that he plans to give his No. 1 contender, John Cena, an unpleasant homecoming at WWE Hell in a Cell.
One week ago on SmackDown, The Essence of Excellence brutalized Josh Mathews with the Cross Armbreaker, reaffirming the vicious lengths that he is prepared to go in order to hold onto the World Title this Sunday. Will Del Rio once again use the blue brand to give The Champ a painful preview of what could be in his immediate future? Or, could Cena return two days early and make a strong statement of his own?
Will Big E equal big destruction on SmackDown?
On Monday, Big E Lanston teamed up with CM Punk to take on Heyman Guys Ryback and Intercontinental Champion Curtis Axel. By pinning the reigning titleholder, the powerhouse made it clear that he is primed to bulldoze any competition in his path.
And now, with an Intercontinental Title Match set against Axel – Big E’s first-ever singles championship bout – slated for Sunday, it will be interesting to see how the muscle-bound up-and-comer reacts to the pending competition on Friday night.
Are The Bellas closing in on the Divas Title?
Although AJ Lee has managed to hold onto the Divas Title up to this point, she suffered key loses to Brie Bella one week ago on SmackDown and to both Bellas when she teamed up with Tamina Snuka on Raw.
Whether the “Total Divas” stars have WWE’s “Black Widow” figured out remains to be seen. But, it is clear that if AJ doesn’t impress against Nikki tonight on SmackDown, the odds of her defending the Divas Championship against Brie on Sunday will be as unpredictable as the titleholder’s actions.
Who will fight their way into Hell in a Cell?
Notable Superstars like The Miz, Fandango, Dolph Ziggler, The Wyatt Family and The Real Americans are not currently scheduled for a match at WWE Hell in a Cell. Since tonight’s SmackDown is the final stop before the much-anticipated pay-per-view event, it will be interesting to see who steps up and earns themselves a match Sunday.
Tune in to SmackDown at 8/7 CT on Syfy to get ready for WWE Hell in a Cell on Sunday!
