Batista (spot No. 28) wins the Royal Rumble Match

The final two competitors in the 2005 Royal Rumble Match would both go on and win world champoinships at WrestleMania. Batista (No. 28) last squared off against John Cena (No. 25). Cena appeared to take the upper hand when he lifted Batista for the FU, but both men spilled over the top rope and hit the floor simultaneously. Chaos erupted as the referees at ringside were divided over who was the Royal Rumble Match winner. To restore order, Mr. McMahon stormed the ring and called for a restart. After action resumed, Batista hit a spinebuster, then threw Cena out for the win.
